Great Quick Service Breakfast here is Good Lunch is Just OK

Went here as the first place tried was too long a wait and the reviews here was really what sold me. The place definitely has a retro feel to it and a old family vibe too, food was delicious and the server was really nice and attentive. Would definitely recommend checking it out and also trying the seafood chowder!

Best seafood chowder in town!! Lovely, personable staff. Our favourite restaurant!

We went to the Esquire Restaurant for dinner. Seating was a bit haphazard but we managed to get a table OK. We had the lobster roll and the fish and chips, both were fine with loads of fries. Service was friendly.

Best Seafood Chowder ever! The scallops were enormous! So rich and hearty! We were there twice this week, both times the food was excellent. Props to Nora on Wednesday and Christy on Sunday.

Loved this place! I've eaten in some of the finest restaurants on the planet (Ducasse at the Plaza Athénée as an example) and what makes a great restaurant is simply doing what you do best, consistently. The Esquire is a classic diner - so much so I was tempted to steal a menu and frame it (I didn't). Lobster rolls, fish 'n chips, meatloaf, veal liver with bacon and onions...pecan pie and lemon meringue pie six inches tall! I am definitely returning! As they like to say in the Michelin Guide...."worth the detour".

Staff was friendly and warm. Their food however was pretty bad. Ordered garlic cheesy bread and my GF had French onion soup. Looks straight out of a poor college student’s dorm meal. Soup had a slice of packaged cheese just thrown haphazardly on top. The cheesy bread was 2 slices of plain white toast cut down the middle with a pinch of grated cheese spread across (8 dollars btw). Bread was advertised as French bread. The mains were bland. Lobster roll had good chunks of claw but didn’t have any seasoning and bread was not toasted or buttered. GF had hot turkey sandwich that came soggy and cold. Gravy was chunky. 80 dollars later, I feel like I could have eaten somewhere really nice.

Went at an off-hour time for lunch. Place was immaculate, staff pleasantly attentive. Varied menu with choices for myself and my gluten-free friend. Had the seafood casserole, which was lovely and crammed full of delicious bites; perhaps just a titch salty that particular day. Would definitely return if in the area.

Having lived for 30 years in South Florida, and 10 years in New England, I've had plenty of experience with all types of chowder. I have to say that this was THE BEST chowder I have ever had, bar none. Staff was friendly, courteous, and very accommodating. If I could give six stars I would.Do NOT miss this dining experience!

We went to esquire on hearing they had good food . Had French onion soup, garlic bread, fish chowder, teriyaki chicken, carrot cake and pecan pie . What a feed !!! The soup was wicked ! The chowder was to die for ! Everything in between was scrumptious! Our waitress was friendly. Would highly recommend this place.
