We just at the and had a few draught beer… the staff were friendly and the bartender was so awesome!! Will go back again for sure…
Went back for the first time in a few years and had another good experience. The Bartender that served us was very friendly and provided us with great/ honest insight with regards to food and beer options. The Chicken Broccoli & Pancetta Alfredo (picture doesn't do it justice) and Henry Blonde Lager were very tasty!
Food was amazing. Lots of vegan options
Fantastic! Great service and great food
Food was ok, typical pub food , nothing spectacular, but the waiter was amazing
Food is okay, regular drinks. Ambiance is alright, its good for late night food. Had the donair cheese fingers and it was decent- portion was a little small.
Went on a Friday evening. Pretty much what you can expect on a Friday downtown Halifax...Busy...understaffed. Bathrooms were ok at best. Free wifi but they couldn't give us a physical menu. Overall the experience was mediocre. Had the nachos also mediocre. The place is a hard 3 star.
The overall experience was great, but the manager/busboy ruined all of it. It seemed like the 14th y.o. was overwhelmed by to much responsibilities. The waiters were great, but good luck getting in with an unfriendly staff like this.
Sorry, but we really hate giving a bad review post covid, but our experience here deserves it. Service was slow and rude.We came in at around 8...looking for seats. The hostess was nice and found seats on the patio. The waitress came by about ten minutes later...first thing she said was "you wont be able to get food. The kitchen is backed up and we cant serve minors after 9." Keep on mind, its about 810. The attitude was straight outta mos eisley, like we had walked in with a couple of droids. We asked if we could get some nachos going as the kids were hungry and the order was placed. After 15 more minutes passed and she took our drink order and she said that the nachos might not be ready by nine. We said fine...we would take that risk. I unfortunately asked what they had on tap. I was told "lots, you need to look at the menu and make a decision". I said that like something darker and roasted, like a stout or a porter. Response was "we dont have that, closest would be a Rickards Red". I settled on a water.10 more minutes and the drinks came. Its now 935. Looking around, there are alot of empty tables. We asked about the nachos and were told that she would check. This is nachos: chips cheese, veggies.850, the nachos come and we request the bill. Fearing a drone strike at 2100 hours we ate fast, paid the bill and left for five guys across the street. The nachos, were ok. Salsa was nothing special at at 24 bucks for the plate, not good value for money.
This was by far the worst experience Ive ever had at the Shoe Shop! Me and my friends have gone here many times and had wonderful service and a wonderful meal. Our server was so unfriendly and miserable. She didn’t even seem like she wanted to be there or even speak to people. We ordered our food. But before it was brought out to us my friend decided to change her mind for what she wanted. When we asked our server to change it she became very argumentative and unprofessional. She refused to accommodate us at all.We left the restaurant very disappointed not only with the service but the quality of the food. I will say this is the first and only time we have experience this kinda of service at the Shoe shop.
