Very nice cafe!!! I love their decorations and the cafe place is so bright. When I went into the cafe, the very sweet smell just come out. I love that. We tried macha and red bean flavour! It’s not really sweet but taste sososososo good! Especially with a cup of London fog! You gonna try this! We ended up bring home a party box! Hahahaha?
Got the mini gang - half with vanilla custard and half with red bean. Unfortunately, i found that I couldn’t really taste the fillings much and they only seemed to be found in half of the taiyaki rather than in the center. I also found the batter a bit too cake-y for my liking - I like them to have a crunchy outside (though this might have been because I didn’t eat them fresh) and a more chewy texture rather than cake-y. I also found it perhaps a bit overpriced - about $7 for 6 taiyaki, each slightly bigger than a timbit. However, the store and the staff were both very lovely! The decor was very nice with a slight hipster vibe - I could see myself hanging out with friends there.
What a delightful cafe! The prices are very affordable and the menu is simple but inclusive. The Taiyaki batter comes in Vegan and Gluten Free options, and there are savoury and sweet options. My personal favourites are the sweet chilli tofu and the pineapple, but the plain vanilla custard is just lovely. Each sweet Taiyaki comes with a side of fresh whipped cream that’s just delightful. The cafe is small, but bright and lovely. A great place to sit and visit with a friend or read a book. The staff are friendly and work to get food out as quick possible. You can also see back behind the counter to a small clean well organized kitchen. Definitely worth dropping in!
Lots of waiting for one ice cream bowl on a Sat afternoon at 2:30 pm. Between waiting to order at a counter because all the staff were busy and waiting for a simple soft serve with three taiyaki, it took around 25 minutes. With tax and tips, it cost $10 for the taiyaki and ice cream bowl. When we finally got the product, the matcha soft serve was hallow on the inside and the red bean taiyaki outside was dry. I would recommend going somewhere else to get your matcha soft serve cravings satisfied, but I might come back for the taiyaki box to bring for friends or work instead of the usual Timbits (18 mini taiyakis with different fillings for $15).Product presentation was very nice and the cafe is suitable for going on a date or catching up with friends as it has big windows for lots of natural light.
Kids love it here. and their parents as well. The decor is nice, clean, modern and give you a peaceful feeling. We tried both savory and sweet food on the menu, all are nice, tasty. Perfect for a sunny day to spend with your family
Amazing lattes and cakes.Loved the hospitality. However, it's expensive compared to other cafes. But the hazelnut latte ismy favourite. This place is a must visit.Great vibe and they had beautiful Christmas decorations.
This café had a very inviting atmosphere and outer decor. Inside was a modern blend of Nordic coloring with minimalistic furniture. The walls were white and the accents were black. I was very optimistic when walking into this café. I ordered sandwiches and a dessert. When I paid, the café was using a “square” looking payment system. It was modern, fast, and took tap. The waitress was friendly during my ordering experience. After placing my order, the waitress told me to sit and wait. After 20 minutes went by… it got frustrating. This is a supposed to be a quick stop cafe? If it’s not, brand it as a restaurant instead? I received my order in a neatly packed take out bag. The food inside was presented beautifully. The sandwiches had a fish press stamp, which was a nice touch that we all appreciated. The sandwiches tasted very good. The dessert however was a let down. It was a piece of cake that tasted stale, like it had been left out for a few days. Overall; 3/5 stars from me. Stars were knocked off for the extremely long wait and disappointing dessert. I would possibly return for a sandwich, but likely would choose somewhere better if I was planning to wait 20 minutes.
I am in love with the interior of this cafe! It feels like something out of a trendy design magazine and makes for a chic spot to meet for coffee and muffins. The lattes and hot chocolate are some of the bests in the city and the owner is extremely kind and welcoming. While the food is a bit sweet for my tastes, my daughter absolutely loves the waffles and can vouch for their deliciousness.
The best, sweetest most adorable little cafe in Halifax. It brings that otaku joy to my heart as well as my tummy.
I loved my first visit to Cafe Taiyaki today, and from this experience I would highly recommend checking them out! I had the “Naked Duo” in Vegan Batter with Sweet Red Bean in one and Caramelized Pineapple in the other and could recommend both! I also had the savoury Sweet Chili Tofu and that was so good. I also had the Gingerbread Latte and it was yummy and beautiful too, and next time I’d just ask for a bit more of the syrup to make it more *spicy*. If you need somewhere to work on a laptop, the environment here is perfect as there’s outlets for your laptop, the environment is cozy, happy and clean, and the music they play is a mix of everything and was honestly 10/10. It had Tom Odell, Halsey, Ariana Grande, Olivia Rodrigo, Migos, Drake, amongst others and I brought headphones but tbh the playlist was so fire I didn’t need them.
