We had arrived late in town but were pleased to find this restaurant still open. Our waiter was outstanding. He was kind and funny and helped us to settled down and relax after a long day of travel. My partner had cod, which was fresh and beautifully prepared. I had a chicken sandwich that I thought a bit disarrayed in its flavor palate but it was still satisfying. The best part of all may be the views across the harbor to Halifax, watching the familiar pattern of the ferries crossing back and forth. Their patio would be the perfect place to enjoy a meal and unwind with a peaceful view. Our meal was a great welcome to Dartmouth!

We have ordered Nachos and Garlic Bread and enjoyed the view darmouth busker fest from outside patio. The staff was user friendly and nice. Although, could not find much options for vegetarians.

Really enjoyed our meals - so much better than the Halifax location. We ate inside as it was pretty windy on the patio, but view was still stunning. Ordered the Fish & Roasties from the “Light Menu” and the portion was huge! Really liked how you could have 1/2 salad and 1/2 potatoe ($3.95 add on). Food was delicious and our server, Amy Lynn was lovely?

Incredible spot, right by the ferry termina in Dartmouth, overlooking Halifax. The service was fantastic and felt very 'covid conscious '. The menu has an interesting mix of recipes made from locally sourced ingredients. We'll be recommending this to friends for sure.

We had an excellent server Michael. He was moving very fast but ensured we were taken care of and was very pleasant. Our food was hot and delicious.

Farm to table, ocean to table. Extremely fresh food. Emphasis on sustainable food sources. Delicious selections. Great staff, wonderful views to eat outside.

Nice place, great view, excellent service. Food artfully prepared and tasted both piping hot and delicious. The gourmet root beer added a nice touch. Warned it was cooked from scratch (or thereabouts) so was delighted when it arrived in a reasonable time. The cheesecake du jour was the grand finale. Everything was as close to perfect as you can get!

We had a large group and the staff. Accommodated us well, very friendly staff, had a wonderful time. The owner took the time to answer my question about the meaning of the name with the great story of how she was inspired to start the restaurant after the hurricane of ‘03. Our waitress Andrea went out of her way to make sure we had an enjoyable experience. The location is great - overlooking the harbour right by the ferry terminal. I’ll definitely come back next time I’m in the Halifax area.

Food and service were great, place itself was nice although we ate inside instead of the patio since it was raining. Multiple people recommended coming out to Dartmouth to eat here instead of the Halifax location and I’m not sure it’s worth it. Maybe on a nicer day?

Twice this month I had the pleasure of dining at The Monkey! Halifax location for Mother’s Day brunch and this past weekend Dartmouth location for a Dinner date. Service in Dartmouth was so fun. The man who waited on us (I believe his name was Stew) made me feel like I was an old friend. Started with a drink made with local vodka. (Called the Brutus) spicy Caesar-type I chose Lamb burger & roasties. Is was so tasty with mint goat cheese. I was so full I had to take my Salted Carmel cheesecake home for later.
