Ate on the rooftop today, fries were frozen flavor crisps so unimpressed there but the rest of the food was good! Our server on the patio was lovely, for the price, you definitely get what you pay for. They were out of a few beers on tap but with the buskers and fair across the road that's to be expected. We would probably go back.
Tonight we had to be in downtown Dartmouth for something and knew parking would be an issue so we came early and checked out Celtic Corner. We have heard so many great things about the place. We walked in and we’re told to sit wherever we liked. Went to a table and someone else came to tell us that we had to move, those seats were reserved and we could go to the other side and sit in a booth in the corner. She wasn’t overly friendly about it. A young girl named Emma came to our table 10 minutes after we sat down and offered us drink and gave us a menu, she came back with the drinks and said she would be right back to take our order, we were ready at that point to order but she didn’t take it. It took about 10 minutes after our drinks came that she came to take our order. While waiting I decided to use the washroom. I went to get up from the wooden booth but my shorts were stuck somehow to the front of the booth. My husband then got in an inappropriate position under the table to find a nail sticking out of the bench and it then ripped my new shorts. The food then arrived, I had Curry & chips (fries weren’t great, little hard) with chicken… it was ok. My husband had the trio burger and said it was good (real meat)… he ordered gravy on the side which he had to remind her for and took a bit to come. My daughter had pan fried haddock, she said it was just ok. Emma came once near the end of our meal to see how it was. We were almost finished by that time. So our thoughts?? The food was meh, service… not so great…. And now I have ripped shorts. Not sure we will try it again. Disappointed. I did mention the nail and she just said “oh, I’ll tell my boss.”
Concerned about customers safety. Under cooked fish. No hand soap, dirty tatty menus and extremely hostile management. Your money is much better spent elsewhere.
We had the best server on the rooftop seating area. She was upbeat and professional. Tasty seafood. Will go again. Great patio on a sunny Dartmouth day.
We had dropped by for and evening of great snacks and some drinks after a long day in the heat ,,But sadly we were met with not so great drinks ..The beer came to me the waitress told me it was cold But I think they must have had a small University fridge because I really didn't want to finish it although the second was was colder it made up for the first drink ,,My partner had a drink and it wasn't to bad so over all drinks were decent . Now for our first appetizer we ordered the bacon scallop wraps to share ,,so the waitress brought out two small plates with forks and knives wrapped in napkins . So when the scallop bacon wrap's showed up and we cut into them they still looked raw but after I tried them I told my girlfriend that it seems they were okay and if they were will be sick by the morning :(( So after we were done we kept the silverware sense we were gonna have another appetizer so when the waitress came to pick up our dirty dishes she had asked us if we wanted another appetizer and we told her yes as she was walking away with our dirty dishes she had the nerve to ask us if we wanted to keep our dishes for the other appetizer we told her absolutely not ,,For real I have to say that's not very professional at all . I have to say whoever runs the place they really should teach their workers how to serve and treat customers in a professional manner just saying .after all that ,,I would have to say we will not be back to this place at all . Sorry But I would rate this place a 4 out of 10 .
Went today for brunch on the beautiful patio. Food was great but portion size has definitely changed since my last visit. Service was lackluster never was offered a refill toast never came with the meal when it first arrived so we had to request that. Toast arrived after we all finished our meal. Asked waitress for jam for the toast and she walked away and didn’t hear us. Good food but portion sizes have changed.
10/10. The guys working the patio upstairs do a great job. The food was excellent and came quickly. Awesome atmosphere on the patio. We will for sure be back.
What a find! Tremendous food values. Buzzing. Of course tons of beer to choose from. Our server: Lumen, was phenomenal. Possibly the hest ever. Upbeat, attentive and a whirling dervish.
Although we showed up for triva night unknowingly, the staff were great and helped us pick a spot that wouldn't interfere with it. I got the pulled pork sandwich and it was really good! If I'm craving that kind of sandwich again, I'd go back!
The service was good and the server was friendly and checked on us often, the patio was scenic and refreshing. However the food left much to be desired. I ordered a nacho platter which is listed as a "sharable" coming in at a woophing $20++ with the chicken added. However I was served a sloppy plate of nachos enough for one person, toppings out numbered the nachos, cheese was not melted properly and some of the chicken pieces were actually cold. I was not impressed and will probably not be returning.
