We were a group of 4, ordering different dishes. The staff were very friendly!Watermelon Mojito: delicious, light and fresh - 5 stars!Cod: delicious, side vegetables (snap peas and carrots) were excellentBurger: just an average burger, had a bit if a spice which overpowered the rest of it a little, fries were really goodSalmon: delicious, with a fantastic sauce! But the mashed potatoes were the real star of the dish - incredible!Nachos: were average, not quite enough cheese so the toppings fell off easilyCarmel cheesecake: perfect balance of light and creamy, lovely caramel sauceChocolate torte: rich and smooth, strawberry sauce was nice and fresh but it could have used a bit more
My husband and I had our wedding at Gypsy Tea Room and it could not have been any more perfect!! From the first contact, the staff at Gypsy were so helpful, approachable and accommodating. The day went off without a hitch, with Doug helping us with cueing the music, responding to all guest requests, and even fixing my dress before I walked down the aisle! We had comments from several guests that it was the best food they had ever had at a wedding. I will be recommending this as a wedding venue to anyone getting married in St. John's.
Pleasantly surprised.Judging by the name, I was expecting something entirely different. We arrived a bit early, and were seated promptly. The waitress Danielle was very friendly, my wife and I asked her for suggestions and both dishes were amazing, and were served really fast.We also ordered a couple of specialty cocktails: Espresso Martini and Raspberry Mojito, but she notified they were out of the raspberry flavor so we switched to strawberry. Martini was good, and the mojito a bit too sweet for me.Finally, for dessert we had the chocolate cake, which was rich and delicious. Very generous portion, easily shared by 2.We will totally come back again and again.
Atmosphere was great, good layout and seating. Also the music being played was quite lit.Food was delicious, I had the salmon and the woman had the buttered chicken.Only complaint would be that I ordered bread as an appetizers and it took almost 45 mins to get to us, about 5 mins before the main course came out.All in all it was a good experience.
Food was very mediocre, had higher expectation coming in. Think the staff may just have been having a bad day but both the items I ordered were okay. Fish and chips - the fish the batter wasn't edible, to much oil. Chilli was bland and sweet - no spice.
Great vibe to pop in for a drink. music is great and staff are friendly.
Always one of my favourite spots, great staff and service, great wine selection, atmosphere and food. See ya next week!♥️♥️♥️♥️
Came in late night for a couple drinks after dinner, and had an amazing time! Ben and Jasmine were extremely welcoming, and made some phenomenal cocktails. Definitely one of the best espresso martinis I have had in St. John’s! I am here visiting for a few months for work, and both Ben and Jasmine had some great recommendations of things to do in the area, and places to see. I will absolutely be back for drinks, some food, and am looking forward to chatting with Jasmine and Ben again. Thank you both for a great evening, and for taking such great care of us!
Had Jasmine as a server, she was great! Prompt, friendly, and funny. Food was great op, wonderful experience overall
Gypsy Tea Room never fails to please. From first showing us to our table and being super friendly, the wait staff were very attuned to our needs. Douglas gave us time to catch up and provided excellent service. And, of course, the food was terrific.
