I didn't think the sushi here was particularly good - it was quite average. I loved the way they do their service - the robot is awesome. But we were disappointed to find that they don't do all you can eat anymore. The sushi - the texture of the rice was not my favorite and something about the way the rolls were constructed did not result in the best flavor and texture experience. To be honest I'm surprised by the amount of positive reviews.

I worked here a few weeks. Horrible management. Very difficult to get your check. The tip you give goes directly to the owner, not to the employees who serve you (or at least he keeps most of it and gives the crumbs to the staff, or more to certain employees he prefers)You'll just make a greedy owner richer.About the sushi, if you've ever had sushi anywhere else in Canada, you’ll understand that theirs are very average. Don't be fooled by a service given by a robot. This place still works because they are well placed.Uptade : here’s my answer for the owner :I'm not sorry for my comment because it's completely the truth. If it wasn't the case what I said, why take it so personal? As they say "only the truth hurts."Besides exposing your rage like that in public, shows another questionable point about your management and your customer service as well. But at least, all of St. John's sees your true colors so I'll end this conversation on that happy note. And also, I would be happy to go to Labour services to report you, since you seem to know the laws better than anyone else and you asked so nicely. Maybe you'll learn to respect your employees and people in general next time.

My wife found two hair in a kind of sushi. The first one she though it was one of hers but after finding the second we figured it was in the sushi. We showed them and they didn’t believe us. We got a 10% discount but I was expected not having to pay for that sushi roll at all. Disappointed seriously. Plus they don’t do all you can eat anymore, and it doesn’t say it anywhere.

great sushi and kind staff

The place is very unassuming, but don't be fooled.. the food is excellent. The sushi is wonderfully prepared and extremely fresh. The ramen is also quite comforting with a respectable broth. They even have robots that come around to drop off your food. It was a good time had by all.

We had lunch here again today and it was fantastic! Excellent food.. service was good.. clean bathrooms.. can’t wait to go again!

Sushi Island has a good range of sushis to choose from and their stuff taste fairly good too. Reasonably priced and arranges their orders pretty fast.

Sushi Island is not safe for celiacs or those with a gluten sensitivity. On August 13 I needed something quick, so I ordered a gluten free order of sushi from Sushi Island. I chose from the dedicated gluten free menu and selected that I had a wheat allergy before submitting my order. When I got it home, needing to eat quickly I started in without paying close attention to what I was eating. I was about to eat my third piece when I noticed what looked like imitation crab meat, which is almost never gluten free. I immediately called Sushi Island to find out what was going on. I rang them 20 times over a 20 minute period before deciding they clearly weren't answering their phone. This was prime business hours, when they were open, on a Friday night. In parallel I tried contacting them on Facebook and someone finally replied about 35 minutes later confirming I was given sushi containing wheat. I told them this was unacceptable. The next day, they contacted me apologizing and saying they would send me a $40 gift card for my troubles. Useless to me but at least my family could have used it. So I sent them my address on August 19. They confirmed they had my address and would send out the card the same day. 3 months later, no card ever arrived. I missed 3 days of work and was sick for 2 weeks. I will not eat there again.

Lunch was great, and beautifully presented. Friendly service.

Its good, the robots are cool ?, but underused. They hardly move 5 to 10 meters around the place. You can see the waiters dropping the food off. In my opinion it would be way cooler if the robots left from the kitchen or an area we cant see them being loaded with the plates. It makes the hole thing feel gimmicky, though i guess it's desease friendly.Food:I prefer cold sushi ?, most of what's on the menu is hot ?. At least you wont be food sick. Most sushi are based on ingredients, they dont hide it in the.menu, it's really obvious. Most sushis are sprayed with the se sweet sauce, it gets redundant.Deliveries we're very quick, most orders delivered under 5 minutesCost:Its annoying seing the peice of what you order go up, but transparent, I guess it's good?, it makes it hard to overspend.Overall we came out full at a reasonable cost, especially for sushi. This restaurent wouldnt be my goto, but we enjoyed overall.
