We eat here almost every time we are in St. Johns. Haven't bothered trying any other sushi places in town because this one is just so consistently good. One of our favorite food stops.
Amazing sushi experience! Nice selection and also tasty. Passionate staff, comfortable atmosphere with exquisite Japanese decors. We will definitely be back! Highly recommend the Duckworth roll and Firecracker Dream!

Highly recommend food and very friendly staff here! The serving size is also amazing. Casual environment and moderate prices. You can enjoy your lunch break here. Will definitely go there every week:D I would say this restaurant is a must try for sushi lovers.

Sun Sushi has been our go to sushi place for the better part of a decade. We used order from the downtown location, but have started using the Kenmount location because we moved. Tonight my wife had a terrible experience picking up our order. She went to pay with credit card and was told their internet was down and to wait by the front. Ten minutes later, my wife went to the back to find out what was going on as nobody had come back to her. Again she was told to wait again, “just two or three minutes”. More time went by and my wife finally got one of them to put down their cell phones and asked if could pay by etransfer. As my wife was pulling up her banking app, the manager was looking over her shoulder and commented on my wife’s bank balance! That is private information and the manager should never had been looking. This whole time this happen our food was ready to be picked up. To top of this whole fiasco, I found a 1 cm piece of bone in my spicy tuna roll (see picture). It was quite sharp and I was lucky I didn’t cut my mouth on it.
We are a family of 4 with 2 young kids. The server never provided any service above the absolute basics. Had to ask for everything. I mean everything. Server never asked if we required anything at anytime during our meal. Both servers on the floor had no other tables and could have provided a proactive service easily. Quite disappointing as we only go out for sushi 2 or 3 times a year. The Sun Sushi on Torbay Road is way better. The food was also only okay. The deep fried rolls still had the shrimp shell on it….very disappointed and will never come back to this location.
