I was wandering about town and had forgotten about dinner, and so did not have a reso, but they were able to get me in a little later. It looked like a quaint place with good ambience so I wanted to try it out.The wait was worth it as the service was great and the meal very tasty. I opted for the scallops and they were quite good.Always a plus: nice washrooms!I will return here next time I am in SJ.
My fiancée and I went to Oliver’s for our 2 year anniversary. It did not disappoint. The atmosphere is great, complete with a wine wall and some lovely mood lighting. The wait staff was incredibly kind and attentive, and the vibe of the place was intimate. Both of us got one of their chicken dishes, and wow, it was amazing. Cooked perfectly with a great flavour and texture, accompanied by fresh cut fries and a light vegetable medley. We would recommend going here for a romantic night or a nice meal in downtown St. John’s. The one thing I will recommend is to ABSOLUTELY book a reservation if you are going to go. They fill up quickly!
My family thoroughly enjoyed the fish. Not pictured is the fish and chips which my Dad says was the best piece of fish he ever ate! I had the steak which was perfect with great fries and yummy veg. The pictured fish is their Newfoundland crusted cod. It was served with mash potato and fresh veg. Would definitely return and recommend ?
Cozy little spot for a romantic meal and a great place to go before talking a walk along the water. The chowder was really great, felt the cod cakes were a little more on the potato-y side though. That seafood fettucini was sooooo good! Lots of scallops and mussels, very fresh as well. The cod itself was very tasty but my piece had a bit too much dijon mustard in the crust, easily taken off though. The service was great and I highly recommend the table in front of the window for an extra romantic and intimate dinner!
Upscale restaurant. Lots of options on the menu and given more once we arrived at our reservation time. Closed at 10:00 pm. One washroom. Server was attentive and flexible with menu. Seafood plater was delicious as was the bourbon glazed chicken. Crab cakes as an appetizer. Tea/coffee. Mixed berry cheese cake and blueberry crumble for dessert. A little dark inside. Food was great and service was top notch.
Went here tonight for my 29th birthday and the food was Exceptional and so delicious! Great place to come if your gluten free!! Can’t wait to go back again
