It was Good, not to expensive, not crowded, food was good as well . These days it's hard to find a good place to eat out and feel good about it and actually enjoy what you just bought. Thank you Monroe Take Out.
BY FAR the WORST restaurant I’ve tried in my life. I’m shocked and I have no words to describe what I’ve tasted. I’ve travelled to over 40 countries including China & Hong Kong, and I’ve never tasted anything as bad as this. It’s an insult to the Chinese culture. I tried the sweet chicken, the fish n’ chips, the hamburger, and one Asian dish. The sweet chicken and the fish n’ chips were extremely oily with no seasoning. The hamburger tasted like chowmein, and the meat was questionable. I had hope for the Asian dish, but it was horrible. So I don’t understand the good reviews. They are either fake or they come from people who have not tried a lot of different food in their life. I always joke around about this place because it’s literally the worst thing I’ve tried in my life, and in any larger city this place would’ve been shut down.
How to start... My partner and I had the sweet chicken, a vegetable and pork dish and a fish and French fries.... I have never seen such a greasy fish and chips in my life! The fish was dripping with oil, literally. As for the sweet chicken, I don't know what to say. Putting jello on fried chicken... ok why not, but very expensive for what it is. The pork dish was intensely bland. Oh yes, we also had a burger. Honestly, the meat looked like it was from last year. It had a bitter aftertaste. All this to say that we spent a total of 75$ (including delivery) for the whole thing, and we ended up with beautiful stomach aches the evening and the next morning. To be avoided at all costs! Scammers !!
Food is awesome, portions are great, price is perfect but the restaurant is dirty and dingy
Best Chinese American food in the neighborhood. Chinese noodles are awesome. Also chicken Soo guy is a great dish to pear with the noodles.
This hole in the wall takeout was recommended to me by a friend. So since Tina was working New Years Eve I decided to pickup a feed of Chinese Takeout from Monroe's. IT WAS DELICIOUS!!! The boys simply loved it and when Tina arrived home from work, she is a nurse, she agreed that even reheated it was the best she had ever eaten!!! This evening I decided to try their homemade cheese burgers. THE BEST HOME MADE CHEESE BURGER I HAVE EVER EATEN!!! They knocked it out of the park!!! Where else can you get a home made cheese burger for $4.60!!!??? Run don't walk and try out Monroe's Chinese and Canadian Takeout!!!
Been going here since a child, lived in town all my life and this is the best bang for your buck if your looking for something fair priced ! Friendly staff and great customer service! I order from this restaurant a decent bit when I do get take out !!
Food took an hour and a half for delivery, and I found a hair in my guy ding. The prices were good and what I did eat was tasty but overall I am not impressed
If you want to try the best onion rings in the city, drop by Monroe's, you won't be disappointed.Chinese food is decent and most of it what you would expect but, wouod not suggest the egg Foo Yung. Very basic, mostly folded egg.Used to have a great cheeseburger but it wasn't as good as I remembered the last time I was there about 10 years ago.But again, order the onion rings, even if you're getting standard fair... just so amazing ?
The store itself is dirty and disorganized. Behind the counter you can see a bunch of things you wouldn't normally find behind the counter of a restaurant such as stacks of pop cans for sale and a vacuum cleaner. Despite the unorganized appearance Monroe's has the best tasting Chinese food in the city and it's great value for the portion sizes you get. If they cleaned up the waiting area and decorated it a little neater it would be a much better experience. A seat in the waiting area would be a great addition as well.
