The quality of the food was great. The service was ok. The ambiance is nice. I felt pretty rushed out, had my bill before even offered dessert and when I asked the waitress she said "oh well the only thing I have is...". I used to be so excited to come here for the different pizzas and vegetarian pasta options but that has all changed. I observed another couple walk out because of this. Still a great place to go if you're not vegetarian/vegan.
Amazing calamari, spinach dip was out of this world ,chicken parm was very good ,brown butter salmon also got rave reviews. Strong ,hot coffee and tiramisu for dessert. Reasonably priced and Amazing service. I will definitely return!
Amazing food, great vibe. Felt cozy and warm. The lamb burger... The pizza. Everything is great. Service was 10/10
Our first visit. 10/10 for service, atmosphere and food. There are no pictures of food because it did not last long. Caesar salad had the perfect amount of sauce. Would go back just for the salad. The chicken parm was tender, juicy and covered with a very nice blend of cheeses and tomato sauce. So tasty A+++. The Mushroom spaghetti fabulous and simply must be experienced
The cocktails and service are amazing. The food however was not to the level I would have expected, and I was disappointed. I had the lamb meatballs as an appetizer and they were over cooked and hard. As an entre I had the mushroom pasta. The pasta noodles were not homemade and the dish did not present well. I would definitely go back for cocktails but not sure I would venture for food.
Staff was super friendly and very helpful. We had to sit at the bar due to full reservations. The bartender was very friendly and we have a nice conversation. The food was very satisfying. Overall a great experience.
This resturant was my favorite place to go a couple years ago but now not so much. The last time me and my partner went was last weekend. We made reservations for 730pm, we got there on time and the waiter pointed to a table for us to be seated at. The candle wasn't lit until almost towards the end of our time there ( we were also in a dark corner ). We were seated without menus for 25 minutes and the waiters kept looking over at our table ( seems like they wanted to come over to serve us but kept going to all the other tables around us ). I would have appreciated some communication to let us know they are busy ( even though we had a reservation, it's not like we walked in ). After a long wait, we asked for some menus from the worker who brings out the food. He ended up being our server and he was really polite and I felt bad as he didn't seem to be one of the servers for that night shift. After we put in our order the first server who seated us came over with menus ( a little late for that ). Overall the food wasn't horrible but it wasn't the best I ever had there either.
Have to pause to leave a review on EVOO. Myself and my husband visited about a week or so ago and the service and the food was absolutely fabulous! Our server, the kitchen staff, and restaurant manager were all friendly and wanted to make sure we enjoyed our visit and our meal. The food itself was delicious. The menu has a nice variety of non-vegetarian, vegetarian, and vegan food. We had the vegetarian and vegan dishes and they did not disappoint! Looking forward to visiting again, until then we will definitley recommend it to others! Thanks EVOO staff for a wonderful evening!
I had the Chicken Parmesan, the chicken was decent, but the sauce and pasta were very unseasoned. My girlfriend enjoyed the greens. When I took my leftovers home I added a little salt and it was immediately a better dish. The waitress and man who seated us were very friendly.
As vegans, we're always eager to try out restaurants with vegan menus or options. Visiting St. John's, NL, we made reservations for a Saturday at 6:30pm because online Evoo seemed well rated. The restaurant was quiet, staff friendly, the atmosphere dark, slightly gloomy and drab, the service uneven, while the food, sadly, turned out to be lackluster. We opted to share the house Falafel bites as an appetizer, plain and uninteresting, an Evoo salad, flavourful, their big mock pizza, again plain and less than expected from a wood fired oven and a vegan chocolate brownie which took too long but turned out to be the highlight of our menu choices.None of it bad but definitely in need of a post (maybe) pandemic makeover.
