They aren't really worth 1 star....cold food and I've had fresher food in my refrigerator for over a day then what I had there this week ....my friend took her mother there for lunch buffet and there were 3 other people waiting to go into the restaurant and they were all in wheelchairs and when the doors opened at 11:30 A.M. they were told that there was no buffet until 5 o'clock that evening....my friend and mother walked out not knowing what those other poor people decided to do....they need to update the hours and when buffets are being served and also serve fresh food again....I use to go there often but never again.
NEGATIVE 10 stars ….1st off we ordered egg rolls and got burnt spring rolls, then we got the honey garlic pork ribs, I watched the server take it up from the Buffett table, the ribs were dry and we found a piece of chewed up lemon peel floating in the broth. We figure they fed us last nights Buffett left overs and the lemon must have fell from a customers plate.My wife and I ordered the Pad Thai. It looked like soup, No peanuts, and it was just bland noodles with some scrambled egg, I counted 3 small shrimp. We sent those meals back, she said she’d take it off the bill. Which she never did. Terribly disappointed in this, they charged us $115 for everything. I am literally sick to my stomach as I write this. Just disgusting. I’ll never go back. Don’t eat here!!!
This was honestly the nastiest Chinese food I've had, everything tasted and smelled like fish, the wonton soup was cold the rice was flavorless and was stale the beef and broccoli wasn't fully cooked the egg rolls were spring rolls which is false advertisement and the su guy chicken was dryer then my kitchen table my dogs didn't even want to eat it when it was brought home I could only try a peice of what was on my plate before I decided to get a to go box the only thing that was realitivily decent was my glass of coke
Bland food lacking in choice for a buffet. Overpriced for what they have. Dishes looked dirty and for the hour I was there no fresh food brought out. Staff seemed attentive but the place was empty.
Always a great experience and wide selection of foods.
I'm being very generous giving this joint a 1 star. This is without question the worse Chinese food I have ever had and I have eaten a lot. The food was cold, service wasn't great and I will never eat here again. My suggestion is do not waste your money, stay away.
Best Chinese I’ve ever had and I’ve had a lot
New to St John’s from Calgary. Tried a few other Chinese restaurants and was very disappointed. We live close by to the City Light. This is our 3rd order and honestly in my family’s opinion —-one of the best Chinese food we have ever ate! Great work guys. Good prices. You can taste their quality in the food. Ate in at this place has awesome food, the chow main didn’t have much of a flavour but all around great. So goes to order take out for the husbands and it was 3$ cheaper for the take out, and couldn’t give me a reason why take out was cheaper then eating in. What is the extra 3$ for the dish washer, the cooks etc there has to be a reason besides just sitting in to eat.
No buffet due to covid. Meal was very lacking in the taste dept. Very very Bland.
