We went to get Screeched In and it was a fabulous time. Call ahead to book a time. There was a very diverse group of people at our ceremony. people from Ireland, Spain, Michigan and Minnesota, Alberta and Ontario. Our Screecher In was Aunt Luce and her helper, the cod fish Little Luce. Aunt Luce was great. She was funny and gracious and remembered everyone's name. She gave a history of Newfoundland, Screech, the Cod industry and the Newfoundland dialects. We tried the Newfoundland steak and kissed Little Luce. There was a lot of laughter and joy. This is the place to get Screeched In and earn your certificate.

We were screeched in and received a certificate to become honorary Newfoundlanders. Humorous, and friendly service. Excellent evening.
My family and I were screetched in on a Saturday evening and it was the highlight of our trip! It was an amazing experience and the bartender was super friendly and passionate about the ceremony. We actually learned a lot about NFLD as well. Whatsmore, there had to have been 20 of us there and he remembered each one of our names (after only telling him our names once). If you're looking for a real and authentic Newfie/ Irish pub night experience go to Christian's Bar!
Just go!!! Had my official Screeching In ceremony here, just a great time. Don't go anywhere else, make a reservation and go here, you won't be disappointed. It's $30, you get the shot, shot glass, a certificate and the ceremony itself which is really cool.
Absolute farce. Visited on a Saturday night. The bar tender upstairs was much more interested in serving his friends or obnoxious people flashing big wads of cash. Didn’t feel like my business was valued or welcome at all.

I do not have enough words to describe what an amazing experience it was to be screeched in and celebrate Newfoundland at Christians Pub. The next morning was a bit rough but totally worth it!
It's a high end dive bar that's never too crowded but also never too empty. Scotch prices are outrageous, but mixed drinks are on par. Beer selection is kind of meh, but the atmosphere is very nice and intimate. Solidly middle of the pack.
