I’ll start off with saying this establishment is cozy and the atmosphere is great. Staff was friendly and helpful. I wish I could give this place a higher rating but 3 stars is what’s appropriate based on our dining experience . We had an order of mussels to start. They arrived at our table promptly and were well prepared (fresh and delicious). From that point on 40+ minutes passed before our mains and when they arrived it was more than disappointing that fries were cold (they did swap out with fresh ones after being asked) and pasta was less than lukewarm and centre of scallops cold… fish tacos were great but the pasta was bland and flavourless but the shrimp was almost excessively salted. We finished our meal with a slice of orange cheesecake which was tasty but not $12 worthy…
We had a very good experience at Blue. We went for lunch time - which at around noon on a Sunday it can kind of be difficult to find places that aren't just serving typical "brunch" food. This place has both brunch and lunch foods. I wanted a sandwich for example, not eggs benedict but Blue had both. I had a well mixed Aperol Spritz with my fried chicken sandwich. The sandwich itself was really good - it had a honey sauce on it so it was a sweet rather than spicy sandwich. The chicken was well cooked, tender and not too heavily breaded. My wife had amazing truffle fries. Overall, a great experience. The location is quite good too - you don't have a view of the water but you are right in the middle of town on the main street which means you have easy access to all the shops and the harbour close by.A great experience - we will be back! I'll update my review one day with dinner.
We were in the restaurant for brunch. The manager was at the door to greet us and the server was promptly available to seat us and get our drinks and menus. The restaurant was immaculately clean and well ordered. The meal was delicious. I had the Traditional Newfoundland Breakfast while my daughter had the Duck BLT that she is still raving about. Unfortunately, the restaurant had run out of sausage this day but the substitute was the in house peameal bacon which more than made up for the missing sausage. A cheerful, helpful server made this a memorable experience.
Dropped by on our trip to St John's. We enjoyed the atmosphere and the professionalism of the staff and decided to book for lobster for the next day. We were not disappointed with the food nor the service. Staff works hard and is very attentive to customers! Would recommend this great spot. (Best to reserve if you do not want to be disappointed)
Excellente bouffe et service hors pair!!!!Délicieux de l'entrée au dessert!!!!
Superb service, food and ambiance.
We went to Blue for brunch today with our two small children and it was absolutely amazing! Our waitress was so friendly and attentive! The manager (I believe) came over to chat with our boys and joke around with them and to also let us know that even though they do not have a kids menu he could whip up some chicken fingers and fries no problem. It really made our experience that much better! Our meals were so delicious and we can not wait to go back again!
