First time there ,the Staff are very polite and inviting. I've been to many restaurants all over the world and I have to say they serve the best nachos I've ever Eaten . My hubby and I will 110% be going back and I wished I could tip the chef too. Overall I'm very please thank you so much for great service and relaxing Atmosphere. My waitress got a good tip and again thank you all!
Love the vibe here. It’s cozy cabin vibes meets classy bar theme. Server brought my partner the wrong beer but brought him a new one when we pointed it out and let us keep the other one for free!
Nice pub with terrific selection of local New Brunswick beers and ciders. Very nice patio to enjoy on a sunny day. Staff pleasant and helpful.
The Joyce is a pub attached to the Crowne Plaza Hotel in downtown Fredericton. The food is mediocre -- basically average pub grub. My caesar salad came without cheese, the chicken was pulled or shredded and not cut or whole, and the croutons were few and far between. The waitress was polite as were the other staff, all of whom were on the younger side. Drinks were reasonably priced, but the wine selection is pretty basic and not very good. No Canadian wines offered. On the plus side, wine pours were more than generous. The waitress brought me cheese and more croutons. Why the salad was allowed to leave the kitchen without being checked is beyond me. What the pub lacks in food it makes up for in people watching and its outside terrace overlooking New Brunswick's provincial parliament.
Have visited twice while staying at the hotel and had an enjoyable experience. We found most of the portions to lean towards the larger size (we've had leftovers both times) and trended towards a higher end pub fare style than traditional pub fare which meets the price point. Cozy atmosphere!
What do you do when your husband is out of town and you live downtown? Walk to James Joyce and have a delicious caesar salad and a glass of chardonnay outside on their patio. Pamela was an awesome server! Wonderful evening.
I ordered today fish and chips and jalepeno margaritas.I was horribly disappointed with fish and chips as I can only taste oil. I have to leave 70% of the portion.For jalepeno margaritas are completely flavorless. You can get better margaritas cocktails in lcbo.The server is giving excuses for the flavorless jalepeno, that doesn't make sense. I used to make jalepeno margaritas at home parties.This is completely disappointment.
Loved the redesign and atmosphere, however my plate (mussels!) we're undercooked and then my replacement meal was subpar. Would return, hopefully was a 1 time thing.
