Very cute, super delicious Arabic food restaurant. I love the colorful decoration of the place. It was small and cozy with about 10 tables. The food serving portion was generous for the price. Lots of options to choose from and the food was served fresh and quick. Between two people we ordered 4 dishes and 2 drinks. All together only costing us $50. It was a lot of food and we couldn't finish it. Definitely recommend.
Ordered takeout from Uber Eats and picked up in-store. Great service and atmosphere, has the sense of being a local hangout. Great music. I'm avoiding indoor eating during the pandemic but wanted to stay longer. Chicken shawarma had fresh and tender meat and great portion size. I don't live in Winnipeg but it pops out driving down Portage and I'll definitely order again. Piles of fresh desserts in store and the baklawa looked amazing.
I wanted to check this place out because it's so beautiful on the outside. But it is equally beautiful on the inside, and the music had me vibing the whole time. The food though...mm mmm mmmm. So delicious! We had the hummus with naan and the spinach and cheese "pizza" type thing. Everything was so fresh and flavorful! I'm the type to usually find something I like and stick with it, but there was so many dishes I can't wait to try. We will definitely be back!!
Oof!I had really high expectations for the food at Yafa! The restaurant ambience is quite unique. Their menu is tastefully created, with pictures for each or most menu items. Music suited to transport you somewhere with a strong Arabian culture. The food though, in my opinion, did not live up to my expectations. Even if I lowered them.I consider myself a Shawarma connoisseur of some sort. The beef Shawarma at this restaurant seemed to have beef bone marrow in it and had a really dry taste. It nearly made me gag at some point. I could go no farther. The Chicken shawarma though? Was much tastier and filled with such goodness. It was like day and night tasting both shawarmas.Their falafels were tasty but small-sized, tantalized with a dressing I considered rather bland. We decided to be adventurous and try a soup kind of salad. Quite the flavour going on with this salad. The Gaza salad. If I had to rate the salad over 10, I’d give it a 4.5-5. Or maybe it’s an acquired taste that grows on you.The salad had really rich flavours and if you’re seeking to expand your palette, it might be worth tasting. All in all, my experience here was ok.The Hibiscus tea was tasty with the extra brown sugar we added. Would highly recommended. It tasted like kombucha, quite refreshing.
Delicious authentic food. Really enjoyed their presentation and hospitality. Highly Recommended!!
Recently went with a friend. This is a cool looking spot with colourful decor and art on the walls. Covid-19 cards checked on entry or at the till counter. You find a seat, choose what you'd like off the menu, then go to the till counter to place your order. Food is then brought to your table. The shakshuka appetizer and beef shawarma meal were good, good portions. Didn't like how the meals were brought out at very different times. Also, I've had tastier shawarma plates elsewhere and the chicken shawarma my friend had was dry. I'd come back and try something else.
This place is amazing! Absolutely love the vibe in here and the food is absolutely amazing. The food is authentic and very well priced especially for the very generous portions. The honey cardamon latte is highly recommended. The shwarma is delicious as well! Top marks team! Ps, the staff in here are also very friendly. ?
Their lamb skewer is so delicious. The chai karak dallah is amazing and good size for the price. The place is very pretty and clean. The staff member is very nice as well. Highly recommend!
Best Middle Eastern food in town! Must tries in Mains- Koshary, Musakhan. In desserts- Basbousa, Om Ali. Drink- Hibiscus tea.The ambience and the decor are perfect and feels like you're transported.Very accessible by bus too. Will definitely be going back multiple times to try everything on the menu.
I took the in laws and family here for dinner. What you see in the picture is the shawarma feast for 5. The food was delicious, but the service was non existent. The skip orders were flying out while we were there, so many more people already know how good the food is.
