Waitress was wonderful. Food , my medium rare steak was well done and potatoes cold, no reg. Coffee, no wings, one in the party ordered pizza after an hour and a half was told there was no pizza (everyone else has finished eating) .my replacement meal eas much better.
We were in town on business and this is one of the few places open late for food on a weeknight! We ate here three nights in a row! Large generous portions of food at a great price! It can be busy as it is one of the only places open for food late at night.. Recommend for a late night cost effective meal!
I ordered the chicken and mushroom Alfredo today and the chicken tasted very bland and it was very rubbery. I have never had chicken this dry in my life. I have had a fair share of overcooking my chicken at home, but the chicken in my pasta made me question if it was even real chicken! I would’ve given this visit 1 star, but the overall taste of the Alfredo sauce was pretty good.
If you're looking for some delicious, quality food (I recommend the pizza & Guinness Bones). It has a pub like feel and an open mic night, comedy night, and karaoke throughout the week. Check their page for more details. Definitely coming back here. ?

$5 Wing nights on Fridays with purchase of a beverage. Live Comedy several nights a week and Trivia Thursdays. Staff are friendly, but don't check up on customers often. Appetizers are usually tasty. Not wheel chair accessible. Seats are close together.
Waited at our table for 30mins and wasn’t helped at all, water wasn’t even brought to the table. Even after asking a server if we could order we were ignored and ended up leaving to another restaurant which happened to have better drink specials (pumphouse). On top of this the restaurant was uncomfortably overheated, and the table we were seated at had leftover garbage. I will not be coming back to Johnny G’s.
The first time I went I had a great experience. They have good dinner menu deals (I got the steak+fettuccine which was only about 12$). It was great the first time. I went back a second time with 3 others and the waitress dropped a beer all over my girlfriends new shoes and my friends shoes. She didnt say sorry, just said shed get us a new one. Took a very long time to get our food (close to an hour). The restaurant was not busy at this time either. My girlfriends fries were cold and chicken fingers were soggy. My friend and I got the steak and fettuccine and the fettuccine smelled off and had a weird aftertaste (I had the fettuccine before and it didnt taste the same). My garlic bread was also visibly burnt black. We left most of our food and when the waitress came back we told her our issues with the food and she said the manager would come talk to us. We waited around 20 minutes and then she came back and asked if he talked to us, and we told her he had not. We waited about another 10 mins before he came over. We told him the fettuccine smelled funny and the fries were cold. He smelled it and said hed take it off the bill and walked away. We were given our bills and had to wait another 20 mins just to pay. We were debating just walking out. Overall took almost 2h for all this. Also other tables were visibly agitated as well, one guy nearby with two girls was sitting for around half an hour trying to pay and had gone up once already to ask for his bill. Table behind us had only ordered fries and were complaining how long it was taking as well. Although I enjoyed my first dinner there, after all the issues with it the second time I wouldnt be able to give it a second chance.
Was here with friends for happy hour and was not disappointed. Food, prices and drinks all great! Looking forward to visiting again. The service was lacking but the server seemed to be new.
This is my absolute favorite restaurant in Winnipeg. The food is always wonderful and no matter what I order I am always delighted with my meal! Servers are also great and always helpful and polite. Can’t wait to return and would recommend to everyone!
