The staff are kind and attentive. Service is very good as well. But the last 2 times eating gluten free pancakes, we have not felt good. Something is up in the kitchen. If things don't change, we may not want to return to the restaurant.
This is a modern pancake house compared to the other ones around the city of winnipeg. They serve breakfast all day. Service was prompt and courteous. The food was hot. Not expensive. Coffee is always good. Facilities were clean.
I’ve been going to The Pancake House for about 50 years, but my time there today is my last. The serving personnel were exemplary. The food I ordered was terrible I had the triple decker sandwich or another name Is a Club House. The meat was dry and flavourless. I took half of it home and tried to fix it. The meat was just to awful and I threw it all in the garbage. The old family friend I took with me ordered a German Pancake to go and was told all the fixing was included with the pancake, but they weren’t. She took their word for it and didn’t find out the truth until she got home. She called me and was very upset.I left a good tip for the serving personnel but we won’t be returning to what was one of our long time favourite restaurants.
Great place for breakfast menu. Food taste really good, you need to be there to have a taste. Definitely coming back.
Wow! I haven't been out for a year or so and had forgotten how great this place is for breakfast! Food was superb. As busy as they were the staff all had smiles and were very productive. I will be going back.
Came at lunch and I foolishly thought it would be quiet or slow. Nope! Very busy, but we were seated within minutes, and then we looked at the menu and I haven't had that hard of time picking something in a long time. Ended up getting waffles and it was the right choice, will go back to try more of that menu.
Service was extremely good, as it was "all hands on deck" for a super-busy Sunday.Food was good; however, one of our egg orders was a little undercooked and borderline raw.The rest of the meal was prepared well.As always, pancakes are spot on.
Thank you to the manager Joanne at the McGillvery location in Winnipeg. I called the day before knowing how busy the Pancake House is on the weekends and asked if I could make a reservation, I was pleasantly surprised when the person who answered said yes! We would be 4 people, my father in law in a wheelchair and I had a stroller with a baby. When we arrived we were told at the front no I’m sorry we don’t take reservations on the weekends and we were out of luck unless we wanted to wait 45 min.We almost left Which would’ve meant putting the baby back into the car and the stroller and the wheelchair and my father-in-law and finding another place I decided to speak to the other manager. Joanne took down all our information, she also wanted to know what time of day we called to inquire about our reservation so she could speak to the person who gave us the wrong information. Joanne surveyed the restaurant for open table and to our luck she quickly found us a table! We were very appreciative for Joanne taking this into her own hands and helping us out today, the service is always great and today was no exception! Thank you!
We stopped in at this location for the first time, we were looking forward to our lunch. When we arrived we where seated very fast which was great however once seated we found ourselves waiting for a very long time to even get menu's. So long in fact that the staff that sat us realized that our waiter had not come by. She came to our table and was very surprised no one had attended to us, she quickly got us menus and said she would speak to our waitress. Once again quite a bit of time passed and finally we were attended to by a waitress that had passed our table and cleary saw us sitting there about 3-4 times. Although the food was good I'd have to admit the service provided by our waitress was terrible.
Family of four were disappointed today. Frozen strawberries on waffles with spray whipped cream on waffles. They forgot to add meat to the scramble and offered a $5 coupon for next visit as compensation. Customer service is not their priority.
