First ones there and on time. Waited 3 hours and didn’t get all our orders. Only offered 5% discount. Manager did not show up when we asked for them. Told us certain items weren’t available after waiting instead of looking through their menu and telling us right away. Gave us orders we didn’t order. Horrible service. Never again. Worst all you can eat.

Very bad experience today. Went with a group of friends for my friend’s birthday. Placed our order, had food coming out a few dishes at a time (which was all tasty, although a couple things arrived that we had NOT ordered)… then waited and waited for the rest to come out.Nothing came. We asked if the rest was coming, eventually the waitress said no, nothing else and we got a new menu. We placed a second order, basically trying to get all the things they had missed. No big deal, mistakes happen right? But the second order also failed to arrive aside from 2 very small dishes. We were the first table seated on that whole side of the restaurant but still stuck there without our food.We complained to no avail, and were told that some of the items we ordered were “not on the menu anymore”, which is extremely frustrating when not told that at the time of order. They claimed we got everything else which was not true at all. After we said we were done, we wanted to leave and wanted a discount as we certainly hadn’t had nearly all we could eat… the response was very poor. They finally came out with the rest of the second order, trying to get us to take it after we cancelled it. We wanted to speak to the manager and they never came to speak to us. They gave a measly 5% discount and eventually comped the meal of the birthday girl who got almost NO food.I think we were more than patient and fair, and they didn’t own their mistakes at all. Honestly, this poor service with missing items happened last time we were here, gave them another chance but it was even worse this time. They need to get their service and menu figured out. Will not be returning.

Went here on thursday evening they said no reservation required when we called. Place was full and people were waiting to be seated. Ordered at 7:30pm food arrived 8:30pm. 1 hr to prepare a sashimi which does not need cooking. Ordered together katsudon for my kid did not arrive too. My kids were really hungry we decided to leave and eat at wendys instead. Horrible place. They even have to decline the customers who made a reservation because they kept accepting walk ins and made excuse that they did not expect so many customers. Such unprofessionalism. We were only able to order 1 round considering it is supposed to be a buffer i figured its already 9 pm and we will get our next order at 10pm. This shows when you let kids run your restaurant without the manager on the floor. If you are willing to wait 1hr to 1.5 hour for your food with missing orders then this is the place for you.

One of the best sushi places for all you can eat that I've ever had. Staff are attentive and friendly. Always room to sit. You can book reservations but not ways necessary. Food is fresh and delicious! Served beautifully. Definitely recommend checking this place out!

The BEST all you can eat in Winnipeg. Food is amazing. Service is amazing.

Food was good but I would encourage you to order by numbers. I did takeout and it was loud when I ordered, also they all have masks on and plastic glass at the till so they obviously didn't hear me correct and completely got my order wrong. Got home and two of my three items were completely wrong.

Our most recent visit was on Family Day (aka Louis Riel day) and we went to celebrate my wife's birthday.Go early on as it gets pretty busy with the louder university- age crowd after 6pm or so.Our visit went pretty well as there was someone who greeted us quickly and scanned our vax cards before seating us.Service was great as there was just the right number of staff on shift as to get things accomplished without getting in each other's way.Food was pretty good and seafood selections seemed "fresh" despite the fact that we are nowhere near any oceans haha. This style of ordering off a "checklist style's menu can get confusing when ordering with a bigger party, but try to remember what you all ordered as some things take longer to prepare and cook. Was nice to also see new items on the menu

Very disappointed with my experience today. Came with a group of 7, luckily we reserved seats ahead of time because they were turning away groups at the door because it was busy. We came at 8:00pm, and handed in our order sheet at 8:15. The food came out very sporadically, only one tempura or sashimi dish at a time with a long wait in between. No sushi rolls arrived at our table- despite ordering quite a few. We handed another order sheet at 9:00, 30 minutes before last call and it had only a few items. Nobody came to check on us unless we physically walked up to them and asked. We contInue to wait for our food until 10:30, HALF PAST CLOSING- with almost no food coming out. Turns out, they LOST our entire first order sheet and only gave the few things on our second order sheet. After asking many servers, no one could determine what happened to our food. They ended up giving us rolls to take home and deducted a small discount- but it still wasn’t worth the money. This was my first bad experience eating at Sushi Gen, but wow that was a big turn off. Please don’t let that happen again.

The picture shows how much food you get for $150, which is not very much. We feel completely deceived. I picked up and everything was cold. The sushi pizza only had salmon on it and nothing else. Its just a clump of greasy rice and salmon on top. The rolls are very small. The circle container was $42 and rolls are the size of a quarter. We are very disappointed and would not recommend this restaurant.

** Covid Warning **Despite capacity limits currently in place, the 2m distancing is not remotely adhered to. The tables are barely 2 feet apart. You're essentially eating with a group of 30+ people all within breathing/sneezing distance. Unsafe!!In addition --- very poor service. We ultimately waited 20 minutes, ordered tea twice never received it, after sitting for 20 minutes still had not had the AYCE menu picked up by server. Decided to pack up and leave. Nobody noticed or of they did certainly didn't seem to care!
