After taking our morning walk at the Assiniboine Park, we went to Stella on Grant for lunch. We decided to go to the patio which was nicely shaded and cozy. Our waitress Jen provided excellent service and our order was served quite quickly. We ordered French Country Omelette and Stella Club Sandwich which were perfectly prepared. We loved the home made hash browns which were nicely pan-fried and low sodium. We remember Stella's on Pembina put too much salt on its hash browns which we barely touched. My husband loves the fresh jam provided for his toasts. We must say Stella's on Grant is still the best in town with ample parking and consistency for excellent food quality and services. Highly recommended!
I’m sorry that I cannot give a minus 5 star rating.We got there at 11:45 am and placed our order after having a drink.At 1:15, I left the restaurant without having eaten because I had to go back to work. My 3 companions stayed and had their lunch about 20 minutes after I left. 2 HOURS for a soup and sandwich?They also had the audacity to attempt to charge my companions for their inefficient service for my meal that I NEVER RECEIVED.Worst service personnel I have ever witnessed in a restaurant. Everyone was standing by the kitchen window instead of explaining the poor service to their guests.Won’t make that mistake ever again…
We had brunch on a weekday here, and the experience was disappointing. We had 2 children and 2 babies in our party, and still waited quite a while to order and another 40 min + to get our food (most of us only ordered the cafe breakfast). They also did not have high chairs available until closer to the end of the meal. Amongst all of this, a coffee was forgotten and we kept being asked if this was our food (coming from the kitchen) when it was not. To top it off, 2 out of 3 of the bills either had extra or missing items on them. Overall, did not enjoy.
One of a stable of Stella around Winnipeg this one is busy even at supposedly off hours. Easy parking and handicapped spots for us. We made it is just before the noon rush. A new staff member looked after us but she had been well instructed. Food was good although I thought a bit over priced for what you got. But a nice vibe in the place...lots of younger prosperous looking folks have discovered this Stellas.
Went for lunch. Arrived shortly after 11:30. We ordered right away as we had a timeline. About 20 minutes later waiter confirmed our order and apologized for the wait. He felt bad and wanted to give us a discount. No discount offered. Apparently kitchen was short staffed. We waited 50 minutes for our baked eggs after I asked how much longer it was going to be. Had to ask for extra coffee and water. Poor service. I love Stella’s and will keep going but not to the Grant Location.
Pains me to say this but please avoid this location. I love stella’s and have been excited to go here. I’ve been here twice in the last month and both times service was terrible. The first time, we waited at least 20 minutes just for coffee. 45 minutes for our food. The second visit, we sat down and waited 20 minutes for a server and still nothing, no hello, no coffee order, nothing. We got up and left sadly. Would recommend avoiding this location.
I have eaten at other Stella’s and had wonderful meals and service so I expected the same at this one…I was wrong. I ordered the tourtiére which arrived totally dried out on one side from sitting too long, the crust was tough, even though it is advertised as flakey, and the taste was uninspiring. In addition, the pan fries were burnt. I don’t think they should have even served a plate like that. It would have been better to be told me they were out of tourtiére and had me reorder. By the time it finally arrived it was too late.
I go to this Stella's a lot. Stella's has so many vegetarian and vegan options, which I so appreciate. The food is great, especially brunch, but also their pastas and burgers.
Great menu and food selection. Really like that they serve breakfast the whole day, serve hot drinks with booze, and their dessert selection. Music isn’t too loud, jazzy background. Overall great experience.
They are so kind and friendly. I am not vegan but You should try vegan cake without flour. That was amazing!!! Thanks
