If you are looking for authentic Kerala Kothu porotta or Kizhi porotta, This is not your place. The food was bad. The porotta used for making the dish was readymade porotta as well as the Chicken. Overall it was a terrible experience with all readymade food with undesirable amount of pepper powder. Even the ambiance of the restaurant was bad, dead silence without any music or sound. With the price we pay I expected not to get readymade porotta and chicken strips , i would rather go to Walmart for readymade items
This humble, unassuming restaurant continues to surprise me with their delicious food and kind wait staff.Better cleanliness, better lighting, and comfortable seating is something I wish they work on to ensure a more elevated experience.Fun fact about tipping at this restaurant - You need to pay at the desk near the door after you finish your meal and they don't charge a tip by default. Either ask them to allow you to add a tip on the machine when paying by card, or simply leave a tip for your wait staff at the table. The service is slow, but the food is delicious.
Best dosa in the city. Tried Butter masala dosa (10/10).But don’t recommend dine in. This place needs a complete makeover. The tables were not cleaned, not even wiped after someone leaves. Fruit flies all over the place. The employees were trying really hard, but it looked like they were short staffed.Management should consider improving ambience/ presentation for the restaurant and the food.
Sorry to sy that although the Biryani had good flavour the lamb was tougher than shoe leather. Butter chicken had no evidence of the ingredients stated on the menu, tasted like sauce from a jar. Veggie Korma tasted ok but very runny. This was a take out.
The three star rating is for the lack of maintenance of the ambience. The taste of the food was good and so were the portions. Worth the price! Best places to satisfy your south Indian cravings. We ordered, chicken chettinad dosa 4/5 as it was too oily, prawn masala 5/5, fish polichathu 5/5, beef biriyani 4/5, coffee 2/5.But the "south Indian filter coffee " was a complete let down, it was just a normal coffee. The restaurant must renovate their restrooms and had wash areas. It was very unhygienic, you never want to visit it before or after eating such delicious food that too during a pandemic, where proper sanitation is the top priority. The staff were very hospitable.
Best south Indian food in Winnipeg. Tried their Masala dosa, butter paneer dosa and Idli dipped in sambhar. Food was tasty and not spicy.
If you go to this place don’t order anything other than DosaTheir curries are stale and bread is straight outta freezer (you can find it at the walmart 5 for 2$)Their is no consistency in their dosa. Eat same dosa 3-5 times and you will know. This is not the only dosa place is WinnipegYou can find better Dosa at other restaurants like Royal Paan and Shahi FlamesDont you dare go their restrooms They are always so gross
It’s a shame you call ur rice biryani
I have tried this place a few times now, and the food has always been good, with no complaints about the quality or quantity, but they need to work on their presentation. Not a big fan of how they serve some of their food. But anyhow, I will recommend this place to try out the Southindian food and let them know about your spice level.
Very bad bad experience all the time, received plastic from the kappa biriyani i ordered. All the time food was not good, they serve food which they made several days ago.
