Really great taste. Tons of options. Complete classic style ice cream shop. Enjoyable experience... if you can ever find a time to be there when it isn’t SO busy that you have to wait an hour in line.Endless wait times. Never EVER is it nor will it be worth waiting an hour+ for ice cream.Cash only. Ridiculous. Imagine waiting in line for 1.5 hours to find out you cannot pay!Prices a little high.Only open in summer.FYI these owners make so much money that they only need to run the business a few short months of the year... excellent for them but why are ice cream shops closed in the colder seasons...They pay their staff well.
The lines of people waiting for tasty ice cream served by attentive staff says it all!
Very good waffle cones. Generous portions and delicious ice cream. It’s open for longer hours than most ice cream places so this has become my go to in Winnipeg.Prices are pretty decent and the staff is very sweet. Would love to see a ‘tiramisu’ flavour added to their menu.
A Winnipeg institution! It isn't officially spring in Winnipeg until Sargent Sundae opens.Visited most recently during the July long weekend. I paid with cash (however I was told they accept debit/credit cards now since the pandemic) and did not see a tip jar available. Having worked high intensity customer service jobs myself, implementing an option for customers to show their appreciation for quality service would go a long way. Would like to see this in the future!
Amazing ice cream and amazing staff! Sargent Sundae is my favourite spot in Winnipeg for a cold treat. For taste, service, and location (Assiniboine Park is right across the street), they can't be beat.
Hands down the best ice cream in Winnipeg. Its not too expensive, they have a good variety, and they give great portion sizes. They are popular so you may have to wait in line, but it is worth the wait. I loft their soft serve chocolate, and mixing the brownie hard ice cream with cookies and cream (perfect combo, so delicious). But they have lots of unique flavors too! Getting your ice cream then going for a walk at Assiniboine Park is great on a hot summer's day, or great for a serene walk in the evening, to watch the sunset over the river. Highly recommend!
Really *sweet* ice cream place! They have great variety of really flavourful flavors. Their hard ice cream is a great consistency, and their waffle cones have that great crunch! Know that their chocolate dipped cones can have peanuts on them, the wait to order can be a fairly long line outside in the sun, and that everything is quite sweet, otherwise it's pretty much a dream come true for ice cream lovers.
Excellent and quick customer service. Great value and portion sizes. My first time coming here and I was a overwhelmed by the menu selection. I've asked the staff member to give me a recommendation of what's the most popular thing that they sell here and I decided to go with a hot fudge sundae. I'd love to try the other stuff on the menu when I'm on this side of town again. Highly recommended to those who have not been yet.
Second time this year already. First time was good, this time was terrible! Same issues as last year. VERY inconsistent. Yesterday the mix was way off. It was basically just soft serve vanilla in what was supposed to be a skor flurry. My favourite ice cream place in Winnipeg but sadly, it’s just not as consistent/good as it was 2+ years ago.
I am a tried and true loyalist to soft vanilla ice cream dipped in chocolate and rolled in peanuts. I mentioned that I wish I was braver to try the seasonal pumpkin pie ice cream. The staff quickly offered to add a dollop of pumpkin ice cream to the top of my cone. Delicious! Glad I didn't miss this exquisite taste of pumpkin! Thank you to Sargent Sundae staff extraordinaire!
