Great meal, wonderful service, interesting that when times comes to pay that the machine offers a minimum 18% for a tip and the tip is on the meal as well as the tax. Always fun tipping the taxman. Don’t imagine the CRA sees that so the real tip is about 21% . Guess that keeps down the wage bill for management. great meal but a real ripoff . Shame on you Steve!
My wife and I went today April 22 to celebrate our 55 Anniversary. Our meal was superb the service was outstanding and we experienced a warm atmosphere. At the end of our dinner and unexpected the restaurant brought out a large oval Jeanies cake. Their way of congratulations on our Anniversary. Just out standing. They went out of their way to make our dinner special.Thank you for making our Anniversary special. Be back again soon.
Was there with a group for a birthday party. Their only vegetarian option was a Beyond Meat burger. Nothing wrong with a steak house only having one veggie option, but it was zero effort. It was just a warmed up frozen patty on a bun with a slice of tomato and a leaf of lettuce, no condiments, no other toppings. Definitely not worth the $30.
EXCELLENT steak. The absolute best I have ever had. You must eat here.
Great menu and good and service
Food was great, service not so much. First, waiter is passing out steak knives and comes within 2 inches of cutting my face.a few minutes later,he elbows me in back of the head when serving another table. When we were done our excellent meal,he started clearing the table and almost shoved me off my chair with his stomach. I’ve never had a dinner experience where I was abused by the server. Just thankful I made it out alive
Finally went here last Monday for the first time and it was pretty lousy in more ways than one. Was pretty disappointed as I remember growing up my grandparents always talking about this place as being really good.First off my friend and I waited almost an hour to order, the server never bothered to check up on us after we got our drinks. I made eye contact with her and nodded at one point and she just kept on walking. Eventually I called her over which seemed unnecessary especially since it was pretty dead (typically your waiter comes and checks on you multiple times, especially at steakhouses that charge this much). So that was kind of annoying but certainly not a deal breaker. Then the food, my god, for the prices they charge... the bread we got was cold and mediocre. I ordered steak and mashed potatoes with green beans and the mashed potatoes were essentially just plain steamed potatoes that were smashed up, no flavor no seasoning. I took 3 cubes of butter from the cold bread basket and mixed in with the potatoes and added salt to get them to taste like something. Same thing with the green beans: they were plain steamed green beans, no butter, no salt, just plain. Steak was pretty good though, seasoned and cooked nicely. All in all I was pretty disappointed we didn't just go to the Keg. I think the bill came to about $130.
One of the best if not the best dining experiences in the city. The atmosphere is classic with modern touches. The service is very attentive and friendly. The food is the main attraction with prim rib at the top of my list. If you haven't been go. Do a lunch if you want to start small, lunch prices are fantastic and food is prepared in a timely manner if you need to get back to work quickly.
Went to the Steakhouse for an anniversary dinner. Ambiance is very traditional, but very pleasant. Service excellent and the steak cooked exactly to order. A bit pricy but particularly on a special occasion absolutely worth the expense.
We had a lovely night out at Rae & Jerry's. We were warmly greeted and welcomed into the comfortable and relaxing dining room. The wait staff are very good at their job. They were there when we needed something but were not hanging on our shoulders. The food was fantastic steaks done to perfection. The full meal rather than al a carte is a very nice difference from most steak houses. We had the rib steak and the striploin. The onion rings and garlic toast additions made the meal even better. We would fully recommend Rae & Jerry's to any steak lover!
