Wow. What an awesome place for drinks. It's small, and dimly lit. Both of those are not bad things, it was really cool to walk in to. The service is great as well. They have a patio as well, but it was closed when I got there, so I didn't get to take a look. It's really just a different experience all around, compared to most of the bigger bars in the city. I think this might be one of my new go-to spots for a well made cocktail.
Hidden away in a local hipster area, street parking at a premium. Seems like only local people know about this place. We had five plates, shared them all, and each was varied and amazing. Smart staff, and the cheff came out to explain each plate and the rationale behind his creation. Truly a special place, worth finding !! Amazing food, amazing dinner.
WOW! This is a hidden gem in Winnipeg forsure! Not only was the service friendly and personal, the food and drinks were some of the best I have had in my lifetime. I'd highly recommend this place for a date night or an evening out with your friends. I will also add that with the quality you get from Langside Grocery you are guaranteed bang for your buck. I will most certainly be back again!
Really nice atmosphere to go and have drinks with your friends. Although I found the appetizers could have been larger portions and a little more affordable! If you are going to check out a cute place to drink though that's a good one!
Walking into Langside Grocery feels like taking a casual stroll back in time. The atmosphere is cozy, with hundreds of vintage touches and heritage character. This is the kind of place where you can feel like a regular even if you've never set foot inside before.One of our diners was celebrating her birthday, and also plagued with a tricky garlic allergy, so we were worried we might not be able to find enough for her to eat to feel like a celebratory spread. Our server consulted with the kitchen and came back saying what was fine as-is, as well as what could be modded, and helped us curate a beautiful dining experience for her.The service overall was warm, genuine, and positively effervescent. Our server made suggestions, shared in the conversation at our table, and never skipped a beat on keeping the cocktails and wine flowing. She even brought us a dish we hadn't ordered just because she thought we would enjoy it (we did!), on the house, and then sent the birthday girl home with a small mason jar full of creme brulee for later.I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant. In the wake of losing Segovia, we've felt like we were missing a sharing-plates dining experience that felt as intimate and special as our old haunt, but Langside delivers. It may not feel as modern and polished on the surface as new spots like Nola or Tabula Rasa, but it has a double serving of old world charm.I took absolutely zero photos of this meal, which is a testament to how effortlessly special the evening felt.
Absolutely wonderful.The place looks great!The entire staff were great!My partner and I tried almost the entire menu and it was all great!Even the non alcoholic wine was great!One of the best dinners out we have had in a while and this was our third place this weekend. Really nice spot.
Amazing intimate romantic atmosphere.Strong cocktails, just how we love'em, good beer and food.It's a hidden gem to surprise your date with!If you would like a cozy corner to have a nice talk with your date without loud music, this is a perfect place for that.
Delightful 1900 building with a wondrous modern take. Food was fabulous. Drink selection pleasing. Inspired, enthusiastic staff to top off the experience. A must on your to-do list when in Winnipeg!
Fantastic discovery, loved the ambiance great place to hang out and enjoy a snack and a cocktail. Went here after dinner so I didn't get a chance to sample much of the food but the beef tartare was very good.The variety of original cocktails was impressive and most were delicious. Highly recommend checking this place out.
Definitely not a grocery shop. Speakeasy atmosphere, dim candles, great cocktails! Perfect for a first date.
