went here for a birthday party and setting up the party and choosing the menu was easy. when we got there we had plenty of time to set up decorations for the area. the food was good and hot and they communicated the times with us. the service was ok it was very rushed. i think the whole service of 9 meals was about 45 mins to an hour and we had a hard time keeping space on the table for all the food. at the end we had cake but didn't have plates and requested for some. they charge a 1$ a plate to cover costs for washing them. i just asked for plates for about the people there. but they gave me disposable plates and plastic forks. also when settling the bill they tried to charge me for plates for the total number of people in the whole party. they did fix it and wave off the charge after i asked them about without a fuss.
friendly service food pretty good old fashion style tradition
The best Chinese restaurant in Winnipeg. The restaurant serves all day dim sum. Dim sums are freshly prepared every morning, that's why their dim sums taste so good. We ordered from the menu as well, everything tasted great, we particularly liked their BBQ pork dish. Their fried beef noodle was great as well, we found out that the restaurant made their own noodle rather than buying premade packages, no wonder the noodles are QQ (chewy). Will definitely recommend this restaurant to others.
The spring rolls alone are worth it. And where else can I introduce my kids to chicken feet? (They are not unique to Chinese cuisine, my north European mum loved them but had to eat them in the kitchen cause they grossed my dad out.). Shrimp dumplings, the rice in lotus leaves…so, so many goodies. Kim Koon is a treasure. And so inexpensive! In covid times, pretty good take out too.
The best dim sum I have in Winnipeg.
Great lunch. Great service. Complimentary parking in Lot adjacent. Pay and request.Reservations only. Observing all COVID REQUIREMENT. DISTANCING ETC.
The Dim Sum here is amazing ? I have yet to find a restaurant that compares where I'm living now.I would recommend every single dumpling you can get your hands on in this joint. Specifically the crystal (shrimp and scallop) and the pork dumplings ?I only ever come here for dim sum when I'm in town, so I couldn't tell you how the rest of the food is. The liquor selection is off the hook too!
The food are not the same anymore...not good at all! I dont want to recommend this restaurant for now!
I've been here a few times for special events like weddings etc. I cannot for the life of me understand why they even have lobster on the menu. It is enidible as they do not supply you with any way to get the meat out. On 3 occasions I have been there and lobster was served. Each time it was basically all left untouched and thrown out. Terrible practice and such waste. I would hope they read this and change their ways.
Extremely happy with the service and food! Authentic flavours and their chef specials are all highly recommended to try.
