Certainly a popular spot; generally a good sign. We shared a teriyaki beef (I think) dish; a good portion but … i found it uninspiring. Too much liquid for me and the beef wasn’t browned and therefore didn’t have much of an Unami punch. Not terrible. Just not memorable.

We enjoyed the food & the 3 chefs. the 3 stars are for the food. The restaurant sits about 50 people. There was 2 servers whom they had to take care of the dine ins & take out. Not fair to their staff & poor service for their customer. We had to wait for our tea half way through our dinner. Paid for 2 cups of tea , one teabag!!!

Food was excellent! I had the spicy fried chicken Ramen and Salmon Bakudan. The ramen was full of flavor and the noodles were fresh. The sushi was also very fresh and a great size. But what set this place apart was the service, they surprised us by brining out a free kids roll for our 2 year old daughter, and engaged with her regularly. This will be our new go-to sushi/ramen spot in the city.

This place was okay. A big issue I had was with the menu, it didn’t tell me what was in the rolls so I didn’t know what I was ordering. Do not get the spider man roll, it ain’t it. Not good. The other rolls were fine, good But after eating that spider roll I couldn’t stomach the rest of it.

My partner and I went here seeking ramen, and we were not disappointed! On arrival, the restaurant was moderately busy with high noise levels - caused primarily by a couple of energetic young children whose parents seemed oblivious to the annoyance of other diners around them. Thankfully, they finished their dinner and departed, leaving the rest of us in relative peace. The restaurant has very high ceilings and lovely big South facing windows. The interior is darker shades, but with the wonderful light, the room feels airy and spacious. I imagine the dark decor is wisely chosen, as lighter colours would be blinding on a bright day! The one disadvantage to the present set-up is the acoustics. All the hard surfaces and high ceilings make for a noisy dining experience, which renders conversation challenging. I suggest that the proprietors consider hanging a number of colourful cloth flags or banners from the ceiling, which will address the echo effects while adding to the visual interest of the ceiling (even with black paint, the ventilation system is a bit too “industrial” for this kind of restaurant). Service was polite and efficient, the young lady who took our order was quite busy but she was on top of her game. Now, the FOOD. We both ordered the Beef Ramen bowl, with no appetizers. The kitchen was hopping, with a steady stream of take-out and deliver dishes flying out the door the entire time we were seated. Due to the volume of orders going out the door, our soup took a long time to get to us - fortunately, it was definitely worth the wait! The bone broth was flavourful and rich, a combination of herbed Beef and Umami that was savoury and satisfying. The noodles were the Japanese version of perfectly “Al Dente”, and the reasonable serving of Beef was thinly sliced and beautifully seasoned. Corn and green onion added tasty colour and texture, while a dollop of thinly-slice sweet white Onion filled out the flavour profile beautifully. We’ll be be back!

My all time fave japanese restau. Love the ramen and sushi. Sushi is big than any other restau I've tried. (Worth the price.) Fast service too even when it's busy time. If there's a higher rate than 5 starts, would definitely give it to Kazoku ?

It was a fun experience of having ramen ? here in Winnipeg. The broth was delicious, and the meat was tender and almost melted in the mouth. The rest of the dish complemented the two. The place was cozy. Ordered Takoyaki with Saki which came out together for me and my wife to have while waiting for our ramen.I would definitely recommend it.

Ramen and sushi are good. Service was okay until we pay our bill.. We didn't give tip on the machine coz we put cash on the table. The server suddenly asked if her service was bad because she didn't see a tip on the machine. *She hasn't seen the cash yet", so I told her that it's on the table. We felt like she's forcing the customer to give her a tip which is not right. She actually didn't even ask how was our food or if we need anything else while eating but we still give her a tip. Good thing we left a cash or else we would feel embarassed if the other customer hear it.

My favourite sushi and ramen restaurant. It’s clean, the sushi is fresh and tastes amazing every time. Great consistency.

Found this little gem with my son. He's loved the Ramen so much he still spoke about our first meal there years later. I was recently working nearby so I stopped in to pick up a meal to surprise family with. They were just getting ready to open and said it might be 30 min before the order was ready. Great staff, brilliant food and a throughly enjoyable experience.
