I’ve been going to the Golden Elephant for several months now and am finally getting around to writing a review for them! This is my favourite place to go for food in Winnipeg. It was one of the first places I tried after moving to Winnipeg, and has since become a comfort food go-to. The broth they use for their pho is probably the best I’ve ever had in North America, and their wonton soup is particularly tasty! Their combo menu is also a TON of food for the price (I have a relatively small appetite, so the combo meal literally lasts 3 or 4 good meals for me. My other friends who eat significantly more are still super full by the end of the meal).But my favourite things about this place are definitely the owners and the restaurant environment. The place itself is relatively unassuming, nestled in the ground floor of a hotel. But the restaurant is so cozy and quiet. And the people running it are so incredibly kind, friendly, and helpful! It’s a great place for good conversation without feeling crowded out like other restaurants. The owners have been really good about accommodating for food sensitivities as well. Everyone that I have brought here has absolutely loved it. I cannot recommend Golden Elephant enough. :)
This was our first time ordering from here and it was fantastic! We ordered the chicken spring roll vermicelli and pork ball spring roll vermicelli. We will definitely order from here again.

Very bland. The Pad Thai tasted like plain noodles with uncooked peppers. Get your Thai and Vietnamese food at other places in Winnipeg.
Great food, had a Red Curry soup with tofu. Loved the vibes of the place and the service on the call. The staff is very friendly and attentive. Took a takeaway orded and the experience in general was smooth.
We can't get enough of this restaurant! Great food and friendly service. Great setup for COVID safety as well.
Looking for great portions, tasty thai food, and amazing service? You need to eat here! The staff are kind, the owner is a delight, and the food was super tasty, for a super good price! Its the trifecta: food, price and portion. Love this place, came a few times now and at this rate, never going to stop. Try the Green Thai Curry Soup!
First time here and am glad I found this hidden treasure. Came with my Mom at lunch and was quite busy. The service was quick and the owner was helping out and was very attentive to details. It reminded me of the old Mandarin on Sargent.The food was delicious and portions were large. Both of us had leftovers to take home.The vietnamese coffee is amazing and the cup comes in a perfectly seal lid. I would have thought it was store bought but I watched the owner make it himself.I will definitely be going back.
We had a great meal! Price was right, service was perfect. We have lots of leftovers for lunch ? You know your in a great restaurant when there are people from all demographics are enjoying the food!
We did delivery so I cannot comment on the resto or staff, other than to say it arrived early (not too early) even though I ordered at what is likely their busiest time. Comments about food portions are correct, we ordered a chicken and spring roll and a deluxe rice bowls. They were fantastic. I sdide ordered Spring Rolls as i often find the spring roll portions with bowls are small. Not here!! So I have a midnight snack waiting - not sure how that can be a bad thing. Back to the bowls. The meats were char broiled and delicious as well as tender. The veggies were fresh and crisp. The sauce was delicious. Priced right, huge portions, Love this place. Will try dine in when the world gets back to normal.
