I love dark chocolate, real dark chocolate, not the poser kind ;-)Dark chocolate lovers you know what I mean.Eva’s chocolate gelato is the best I’ve ever had anywhere.For those who like lighter chocolates they have a good variety of those as well.This is *the* place to go for lovers of strong chocolate. You cannot buy this level of chocolate fix heaven on the ice-cream gelato front anywhere else in Winnipeg, or even Vancouver or Toronto. It is that good.I typically only order chocolate, but have tried vanilla and strawberry, both of which were excellent as well.After 10 years of going here I finally wrote a review.
The gelato shake was overpriced. Asked the guy why my total amount came to $10.38 and told me because I asked for extra whipped cream and he had to charged me for that. Not even extra whipped cream was put into it as you can see in the picture. So disappointing. I've been a customer ever since but now I have to tell my friends to stay away from here. Never going back for sure.
Because of the pandemic, they don't have cakes or chocolate anymore. So I picked up some tubs of Gelato.
Eva's Gelato & Coffee BarThere is a lot of parking in the parking lot. The entrance is easy to access. There is no longer a table to sit outside.Inside the store the service is quick and friendly.The flavours are fresh and tasty. The texture was superb but a challenge to eat a cone in +36°C temperatures as it melted very fast. This store has quite a different selection of flavours than the ones I've tried in Italy, however they did have a great lemon Gelato. Luxurious treat and priced accordingly.
Very kind and helpful employees, they help choose what flavour goes with what. Delicious espresso, very rich aroma and perfect amount of crema. The gelato is amazing, texture stays silky and softer as gelato should be. Definitely recommend this place!
So, we tried to go for a motorcycle ride and stop for coffee and Gelato. There's no seating inside, and no sitting allowed outside on the steps. We couldn't see any other outdoor seating options. This is ok if you're in a car, but pretty much useless if you're on a bike...one with an engine or one without.It would be very helpful to have it edited online that they are currently offering take-out only.
If you like good ice cream, this is the place to go. You have to be willing to pay a bit more than other places. Not friendly though and long line ups.
They won't serve without a mask,even if medical exemtions are in order,grrrrr.
Best Gelato in the city. Staff is quick and even if you see a line the wait is not long at all. Lots of flavors and coffee is always fresh.
Great place to stop for Gelato. Still lots of interesting flavors, even though there appear to be a few less than usual now during the pandemic.
