Just finished the lunch buffet and wanted to let you know how tasty it was! The green beans, grilled with such a wonderful smokey flavour and paired with the tender chicken is outstanding and your spring rolls are crunchy, delicate, melt in your mouth dreams that make you wish you could eat for four people. Don’t get me started on the ginger beef or crispy chicken wings - MAGNIFICENT! Such a gem of a place, can’t wait to go back. Thank-you Empress of China!!
Tried for the first time today and was not impressed.#45 Chicken with Veggies, #52 Beef with Broccoli and #64 Empress Chow Mein were all cooked decently but had no seasoning at all, even the sauce was clear and didn't taste like anything. There wasn't even any onions or garlic thrown in to give the dish flavour. If you like eating food with no outside flavour, so the chicken only tastes like chicken and the beef only tastes like beef, then you may enjoy these dishes.#53 Lightly Battered Prawns were over cooked and dripping with oil.The only good dish was #42 Chicken with Black Bean and garlic Sauce.Overall I would not order again
We had diner for 8 on a Thursday at 430pm. Ordered many dishes... the popular ones were the lemon chicken, dry breaded veal and beef a la empress. I expected mixed veggies on top of the chow mein instead it was bean sprouts and carrots. Read the menu.... you have to order mixed vegetable chow mein. The food was brought out without a long wait. It was hot, fresh and delicious. We had great service, restaurant is clean and comfortable. The staff accommodated sauces on the side, and extra plates and cutlery for the cake we brought in.The quality is excellent and the light natural sauces are refreshing. I will dine in again.
Very comfortable place for family to dine in. The food are fresh and tasty. The service are very friendly and consider for our family because we have three little kids. She always come to us to ask what we need. The owner's hospility let you feel so welcome and cannot forgot her joyful face. Highly recommend this place for Chinese food. ?
Made my mother’s birthday special. My mom cannot eat out at very many places but this place has an entire menu that is gluten free! They have yummy traditional food and yummy gluten free food. Being on lock down because of Covid and not being able to celebrate with her … they went over and above to get her birthday dinner to her as a surprise from us! Highly recommend this place and have been going since I was a young girl! Thanks for always delivering amazing customer service!
Ordered a meal from here for my anniversary. We have been ordering from here for several years but today we were very disappointed and will not be returning. The food used to be good however things have changed. The lemon chicken was soggy and the noodles were dry and flavorless. We eventually called to complain after our meal because the sweet and sour pork ribs were extremely hard to chew. The manager advised that this is normal and argued that they have always been this way. He asked us to bring the dish back to the restaurant even though there were 3 or 4 pieces eaten out of container. I thought that this was quite unsafe given there is a pandemic however I agreed to return it for a refund.
My wife is celiac and it has been a long time since she had American Chinese food. She absolutely loved it. Had the lemon chicken, ginger beef, Cantonese chow mein, mixed veg, and some egg rolls. They obviously are very good at keeping the gluten away. She's giving it 5/5, I'd say 4/5 compared to "gluten full" Chinese, but still quite good.
The food is really good and filling!!!! Awesome service, waitresses are so sweet and polite.Would recommend highly!
I was going to call and complain but after reading the reviews I figured why bother. I’ve always enjoyed their food in the past but tonight was a huge all around disappointment. The sauces I ordered for the chicken were completely wrong plus they were cold and consistency was like gel/pudding. Chow mein was dry, barely cooked and had zero sauce. Also, the veggies in the chow mein were raw. The ribs were sloppy, rubbery and mostly fat. The fried rice was dry and bland. All around the food was cold. I don’t expect perfection considering it is New Years and busy, but it was honestly such a waste of my money that I’m never ordering again from there.
I hate to say it but it's the first and last time ordering from here. Just like the the guy said down below, food was dry and hard. Only thing that was decent was the sweet and sour sauce...kinda harsh, but it was not worth the drive and money. Oh well.
