I have been to this restaurant umpteen number of times. And the food here has always lived up to its name, DELICIOUS! The service is also great. We usually have the lunch special which includes a soup (choices are Hot & Sour Soup/Wonton Soup/Consumme Soup/Vegetable Soup), a vegan dish (with option of having Steamed Rice/Fried Rice/Chow Mein) and a spring roll.
I missed chinese food, and at the same time I am trying to practice consuming more vegetables than meat. I came across this restaurant through random browsing and I am glad to find out the location is easily accessible via bus, especially for those who stays around UoM area. I went in for the first time and placed my takeaway orders with the man named Terry. He recommended the tofu black beans, and I added the deep fried mushrooms, rice, and hot and sour soup. Terry was extremely friendly and humble, and I felt so welcoming despite the restaurant earlier was empty. I am extremely impressed with how fast they cooked and prepared the food just as I arrived and ordered about 5 minutes ago. IT WAS ABSOLUTELY FRESH AND SMELL INCREDIBLE!!! Terry even asked me to try a mushroom first before I left. I was so glad to try it because it was absolutely flavourful and freshest thing I ate in a while!! I immediately speeded off home via the bus and couldn’t bother to take off my coat and all. I dived right into the meal and bless, it was delicious and healthy!!!!! I would love to come here often with my friends and family, everything was delicious, nice and welcoming!!!
...OCCASIONAL LOCAL DINE-OUT ALTERNATIVE: THANKS TO HUMBLE, DIFFERENT SOCIAL 'DINING CIRCLES' AM ABLE TO RE-VISIT DELICIOUS VEGETARIAN, ESPECIALLY WHEN IN 'MEATLESS-MODE' (HINT: SEE POSTED PIC'S). LOCAL LONGER-TERM VENUE THAT'S BEEN WELL-KEPT, REASONABLE $$; BEST WISHES TO STAFF & MGMT MOVING FORWARD!
Stopped in all the way from southern Ontario while visiting a friend in Winnipeg who is responsible for the amazing portraits on the walls, and the food was as classy as the decor.Good portions and great service.
It makes me so sad there isn't a vegan Chinese restaurant where I live. Any vegan or vegetarian visiting Winnipeg should absolutely go out of their way to stop at this gem of a vegan restaurant. The menu is huge and everything, including the service, was amazing. Thank you Delicious Chinese Vegetarian!
If you are vegetarian and want to taste actual Chinese food,it is a recommended place. They have everyday special . Missed the soup with special which was served Prior to COVID. Everything else is delicious as the name suggests.
Delicious Chinese Vegetarian Restaurant is SOOOOOOO Good. When I Die if my Body is in Winnipeg I want them to Cater the Funeral. A+++++++
I understand the current pandemic situation is hard on everyone and restaurants in particular. But making patrons keep their mask on during a previous visit even when seated at the table is just plain wrong. We attended again recently, (why?) after calling in a few times to ensure they were open I called just before leaving to make sure they were open and the person that answered said yes. What that person who answered neglected to state was that they had recently changed policy and now were open but for take out only. The same person who had answered the phone asked what we were there for when we arrived and seated ourselves. They only then made it known they had changed policies to take out only. When asked why this information was not provided during the calls I had made to enquire of the restaurant status I was met with silence. This situation has been rough on everyone but a little common sense goes a long way. If a change was made from dine in to take out only a great idea would be to let your patrons know about it when they call in about the current status of the restaurant.
The phone number for this location just rings without answer at 6pm on a Thursday. Tried for an hour. I wanted to try this place but I’m not going to bother now.
ZERO STARSI will update if I ever get to order. I have called 65 times in the course of the last 45 minutes and no one answers the phone when it rings.I was excited to try the food but not sure if I will bother. Do I want to waste another 45 minutes trying to place an order?
