We wanted to see what all the cars parked for and we found this very popular restaurant. The prices are super low and the food pretty decent. If you’re looking for affordable decent food to take home, this is a perfect place for you. This isn’t your common Indian restaurant like Clay Oven or Cilantro’s. Most of our order came cooled except the samosas and roti. The roti was ok but I like naan bread more; it was a little dry and a little sweet. The texture of the roti reminded me of a pancake. We also ordered butter chicken, curry chicken, veg korma, and rice. Once we got home, we warmed them up. The samosas crispy wrapping smoother than what I’m used to and the veggie stuffing was less salty. Overall good light tasting samosa. The red sauce was a little spicy; the white sauce was a bit creamy and taste a little like yogurt. The curry was less oily and creamy than your typical Indian restaurant. The butter chicken was a little spicy which I liked. The curry chickens had very little thickness to it; it was okay in my books. I’m both these curry though the chicken was great; flavourful and soft. The veg korma was surprisingly good too. The rice was okay and nothing special.A few things to note. We tried to order take out over the phone a few times but always went to voicemail. We had to go to the restaurant and order in person. They were super busy as expected. There isn’t much of a menu to view in the store so if you’re new, I recommend looking up some of the photos of the menu and learning what they are. The cashier tried to help explaining some items to us but it was difficult understanding because I didn’t know the names of foods and there were no visual aids (images or a menu)

Mohamed and I decided to see the hype of the many cars always parked on this street in front of Dawat one night. The place is more of a pick up and go/take out and quite small inside, no dine-in. The one who took our order was a very kind lady who explained to us and suggested to us what their best to-go meals were since it was our first time there. Since we did not order in advance we had to wait about 8 minutes in the car. The total came to $9.We ordered the following as our late night snacks:Roti 0.60 - we had 2 for our order. This was dry and she did mention that but not spicy, which was ok for me.We had another type called Aloo Jera ($3.00) filled with potatoes, onions, spices, and herbs and that was really good with an extra spiced kick to it.The yogurt provided to us was not to our liking though as it was way too sour.We also had veggie samosas which were crisp and tasty.

It's unfortunate, I called in my order, seeing that they have nothing set up online, it was very hard to explain what I wanted, ended up not getting what I thought I ordered but it was very tasty!!! I ordered Butter chicken and Chana Masala for my boss, they didn't give us the Chana Masala ! The lady on the phone was not helpful at all! I'm giving 2 stars because altho the food was good, it wasn't what we wanted and the prices were good too!

I want there looking for Desi pizza as I often see a line up on the sidewalk and thinking it must be a great place. They even have a picture of a pizza on their sign. I patiently wait. People kept rushing and budding the libe. Very unorganized. Workers don't care. A man spoke about the order they serve people in Punjabi and shes shrugged it off saying nothing she can do. I asked about the pizza when I finally got to the counter she said they don't do pizza. I didn't even argue. I just left, never coming back. They have random menus written on paper by hand stuck all over the walls stained yellow. It di not appear to be clean inside at all. I wonder what their performance is like with the health inspector...

Price: $. Food: very spicyService: ?, is a take out; make sure you have your order # ready when asked. This is not a restaurant, only pick ups. Download the app place your order. Your order number is on the receipt. This is a busy place that works 24/7. Popular with the East Indian and worldly communities.

Don’t order food at home. They don’t have any delivery system if you will order the food now it will take 2 hours I bet. They don’t even pick the call always gonna say driver is on the way but never gonna let you know about the estimated time frame. Please change your delivery system for better customer service.

I ordered my food through their app around 10:30pm (thought I don’t have to wait) and it says your order will be ready at 11.23pm. I went there around 11.32pm and they still said “ Can you wait 5-7 mins cause your half order is ready and half is being prepared” and i waited there till 11.58pm and when i came home i have to microwave everything. They Took more than one and half hour. And their food was not worth this wait ?

The only reason I am giving it a 2 is because of their deserts. All the chicken was all dark meat with flavourless sauce. Rice was plain, so so. Service was not friendly. No naan bread. Everything a la carte. No meal specials no platters and expensive. Could have made a better dish opening a jar from the store for better. Maybe 2oz of chicken in my order. Would never go back. Got the impression they did not want my business.

Food was cheap and delicious. Delivery took bit longer, plan according. Rotis were fresh.

This food makes my mouth water! It's so delicious , love it. Thank you DAWAT ?
