Nice large patio, good portion sizes and friendly staff. There was live entertainment on the patio on the evening we were there which was ok but a bit too loud, as live entertainment often is. The food was good. I had the lamb shank, which were ok but didn't taste like it was made fresh in house, and garlic mash which was tasty. The side tossed salad was a little strange with quite a lot of almonds and dried cranberries. Top marks for friendly service and nice atmosphere.
Very delicious! We sat out on the patio which was very cute and the chairs were so comfy. Our server was pleasant and the fries were amazing. The coleslaw was very mild in a delicious way. Cute little restaurant.
Really nice experience at Cork & Flame. We sat in the lounge which was really nice, and ordered appetizers. The chicken wings were really good (some of the best i had in awhile)! And the spinach dip was delicious. The waitress was really friendly & attentive.
This place exceeded all expectations. Got the Prime Rib (their specialty that is only served Friday and Saturday) and received the roast pictured below. Service was lovely, atmosphere casual, and just a great space to be.If you're heading to the Keg, the Olive Garden of steak houses, just keep driving down the road to this place and get a meal made with some real care.Oh, and the sizzling apple crisp is the real deal. Don't skip it.
This review is reflective of a recent group dining experience at Cork & Flame. It was everyone's first visit, and will likely be everyone's last. The dining space is huge, patio is nice, live music was good, but the indoor space is too loud to have a conversation. The service staff was friendly and helpful, but also inexperienced and slow. The owner or manager, a gentleman who was chatting with tables, bringing out drinks, and advising the wait staff, really ruined the experience for all of us, which I will get to later.Apart from not having many of the menu items available, waiting a long time for everything, watching other tables served before us even though they arrived later, having items forgotten or incorrect, our meals ranged from good to disappointing. One person soon after experienced some tummy trouble, but this could always be coincidental. One person really did not enjoy their meal or experience. This review would have been much better, but because of the owner/manager's lack of customer service skills it gets 1/5. If I could give lower than that, I would. Discussing our table with another table is unprofessional. Patronising people is rude. For the prices they are charging you expect a certain level of quality, and knowledge about how to prepare something and that was lacking. The steak was soggy, no crust or sear, and just didn't look or taste like it was freshly grilled. Other steaks were ordered (medium well) and were enjoyed but I also would take an assessment by someone who prefers their steak done that much with a grain of salt.I'm sure many people have a great time here, but in terms of value for money, ambience and total dining experience this place was a big L. If you do go I hope your experience is much better than ours.*pictured is the lamb shank which was good, but sent the person who ordered it to the bathroom before leaving so, who knows.
Good food, huge portions, and probably the best service out here in Winnipeg. Every little thing down to the desserts are made in-house by their amazing chefs. You can also tell how happy the chefs/servers are. Says a lot about management!
Came for an earlier dinner with a party of eight and it wasn’t too busy when we arrived. It was everyone’s first time here. Albeit quite loud (live music in the lounge competing over speaker music in the restaurant), the space was nice and contemporary. Service was friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive to our table. Unfortunately it took an hour and a half to receive our entrees (we watched as tables who arrived after us eat first). Meals were satisfactory. Note that this isn’t a family-friendly restaurant; there are high chairs but after confirming with our server, there isn’t table for diaper changes in either bathrooms (we had to change our little one in our car).
We have been for breakfast and lunch in the past two weeks. Both meals were very good and the price was appropriate. Our server was attentive. The restaurant is clean and it is bright and sunny. No complaints from us. We will be back.
We had a lovely experience at Cork and Flame. The owner was wonderful and came around to check on us a number of times throughout the evening. The servers were on top of everything and always available for questions or to drop off drinks/food. We had a small issue with our steak and the head chef immediately came to the table to fix it. Overall, excellent customer service. There was live music on the lounge side - it made for a great atmosphere. The food was very good. I can’t say enough about the prime rib dinner. It was absolutely delicious! The fries were seasoned great and the vegetables were cooked perfectly. The Greek salad was incredible! We will definitely be back to try other dishes on the menu. Suggestion - make a reservation on Saturday night - the place was packed! Thanks for the great experience!
Excellent food enough that two girls took 1/2 home for supper. Tidy ,clean and nice amount of light room.
