A group of four of us attended Brazen Hall for Sunday brunch on May 22. Here is how our visit went.1. Our server greeted us but didn’t direct us to the QR code to read the menu. So placing our order was very delayed. Also, our server was unmasked. An unmasked server in recent times was new to me.2. As we finally tried to place our order, we were informed that the Sunday brunch menu had not been prepared. Again, our order was delayed because now we had to make new decisions. Remember, we were there for Sunday brunch.3. So, we tried to order the soup. We were informed it too had not been prepared. Once again, placing our order was delayed. Finally, our server confirmed that they DID have the beet salad. And, we all chose the beet salad. The salad was very fresh and full of greens. Unfortunately, it was really short on beets. My salad had at most 5 tablespoons of VERY tiny cut up beet chunks.4. The restaurant was not very busy, but the music was cranked up for perhaps a larger crowd expected later in the day. We found ourselves speaking in an abnormally loud voice to connect with each other. When we asked if the music could be turned down please, the response was a curt “NO”. No explanation, just “no”.5. However, the most disturbing part of our visit, was our server not taking seriously the severe food allergy of one of our group. In fact, our server rolled her eyes at the request of no sesame. It was only after repeated prompting from each of us and explaining how serious this allergy was, our server thought to check with the kitchen to make sure no sesame products would be included in the salad. Very scary. Very disappointing. In all fairness to Brazen Hall, the salad arrived and there were no issues with allergies. We enjoyed each other‘s company but did not enjoy our experience at Brazen Hall. None of our party will be supporting this restaurant again, ever.
Brazen Hall has become one of our favourite spots to pop in for a beer and great food. Our last couple of visits we had Koryn and she truly made the experience complete. Awesome service and personality. Thank you again!
Good food and beer and friendly staff
As you can tell from the reviews, this is a great place to eat! I loved the burnt ends brisket... so good! It just completely melts in your both! Their award winning burgers were also AMAZING! As a picky eater, I was a little hesitant with the flavor combinations but -- THEY WERE SO GOOD! I can't wait to go back to this place.I would recommend asking for a booth though. I do find that some of the bar seating is tight and the chairs are a bit too hard to sit on.
We had an amazing blizzard dinner night !! Highly recommended
Went with some friends and was quickly reminded how much I love Brazen Hall. Service is fantastic as is the food and beer. The shrimp appetizer was fantastic.
We had such a pleasant experience dining here. Our waitress Alyssa was very welcoming and professional. She made great suggestions. We tried their award winning burger as recommended and we could not be happier. Would totally suggest you dine here if you can.Smoked meat practically melts in your mouth and their hazelnut filled churros are a to die for ending to a great meal.Cherry on top was their gender neutral bathroom. LOVED the idea!
Have dined in and ordered take out food multiple times in the past. Food is on the expensive side and sometimes inconsistent in quality but we really like their beer. Today I tried to order through the phone for pickup and was told that they don't take order through the phone and I have to use their website to order. I asked to speak to their manager and was told that I must have miss understood and they will still take my order. I did not misconstrued what was initially said to me, I understand they are busy and told the manager that all I wanted was to place an order and would be willing to wait until such time my order is ready for pick-up. I was told to hold for at least 10 minutes and they will take my order. No apologies. I am totally aghast with the treatment I got over the phone and I just shook my head and hung-up. Here we are trying to support a local business in a pandemic and this is the treatment we got.
Ordered DoorDash back in November. Had read the reviews extensively beforehand and the pictures of the food looked phenomenal. What we received was really not great. Food was very cold (which I realize could have been the fault of the delivery service so not even deducting for that) and also undercooked! The pretzel was literally raw dough with a browned outside. The brisket was 95% fat. The soup was cold, watery and far underseasoned. I felt it might have just been an "off" day based on reviews so called to discuss our experience and was promised a gift card in the mail to try it again before I reviewed. Never received a gift card 8 weeks later. Not trying again.
Went for a second time to give it another chance. Food was average but a burger costs $22 bucks...crazy for a burger and fries. What really set me off was the beer though...they only serve their own kind of beer which you have no clue what any of it will taste like. As such, took the waiters word for it and the beer was decent but small and costly...they brought me a small glass of beer, not a pint and it was $8.95...seriously, 9 bucks for a little glass of draft...sorry but i am done here.
