I've come here several times in the last few months but didn't quite have a good experience recently. I had the tacos for taco week but found them a bit underwhelming. Red Thai was a bit bland but more so the waiter wasn't on top of things as well as our previous waitresses. On a positive note, My wife ordered the veggie delight sandwich and found it to be great along with her pretty in pink drink. Still recommend and will be back.
Overall Very GoodWent there with party of 11 following a Graduation. We arrived 1/2 hour early and were accommodated instantly. Sara, our server, was fantastic throughout the evening! Drinks were quick, appetizers were fantastic with large portions. I had the Blackened Chicken (VERY Tasty) & Rib combo. Ribs were overcooked but still had good taste - they would've been fantastic if not quite so over-done. Roasted Potatoes needed some flavor, but Sara brought me some Garlic Butter which made them perfect! Service and atmosphere definitely overcame the (very) slight issues with my meal, however that's all that prevented a 5-Star review.- we'll DEFINITELY be back-Scott
Delicious! Yummy! Wonderful! So Good!All words that we mentioned during our recent visit for dinner on a girls night out.As someone who knows how to make a good nasi, I thought the nasi dish was delicious. I also going to strongly recommend the spiced Mango-Rita - yummy! The Caesar salad was also plentiful. The atmosphere was lovely, background music not too loud and service was quite attentive. We’ll be back!!
Great food, value and service (Christopher). A bit loud for me personally, but to be expected with a fully packed restaurant. That means business doing well, which is great. Would love to see more dessert portion. Perhaps carrot cake, ice cream or something like that.
We had reservations on the patio this evening as it was supposed to be a beautiful day. But it is May and we do live in Winnipeg! Sun went away and it got cool on the patio. We asked if we could get the patio heaters turned on and our waitress informed us that they were out of propane. Ok.... you have 4 managers in the restaurant at the moment and there is a gas station across the parling lot. When we asked if one of the managers could maybe run and get them filled they replied with "it is really busy in the restaurant and no one could go". So you are telling me the your patio patrons are not as important as you in house patrons?!?! NEVER should have run out of propane... especially in May!! Did not get to sit and enjoy my friends company or my food(which took forever)as we were shivering. Management needs to do better!!
Went for dinner with my boyfriend - absolutely wonderful experience!Staff are friendly & fast. We shared 2 appetizers (fried cheese curds and stuffed mushrooms), both were delicious! Each had our own drinks and a flight of beer, and our dinners (chicken & ribs, and the alfredo). Mouth-watering to say the least! The Alfredo was perfectly creamy, and I had prawns added which were huge! Chicken and veggies were amazing too! But the star of dinner had to be the ribs! They were smoked in house and were to die for!Will definitely be returning!
My first experience at Block and Blade was simply horrible. From the start to finish the service was poor and the food was even worse. I had been seated and ordered a cocktail and it took longer than I expected considering it was not busy. I had ordered an appetizer and entree and approximately 20 minutes had passed, I had asked our server when we could expect the appetizer and she said she wasn’t aware of the order of appetizer. She then proceeded to argue with me. The entree had arrived and the steak was over cooked and the ribs were dry. I had asked for extra sauce for ribs and asked to remake the steak. After an eye roll she agreed. Long story short the manager had come by because she had seen me trying to get the servers attention multiple times but she was too busy visiting with her co-workers. I was discounted on the bill for the unholy food. Long story short do not waste your time and money. If it would have been poor service and tasteful food, I would never be writing this review. But, the food was disgusting and service was irritating.
Ghost kitchen. They brought our apps at the same time as our meal and our server was not at our table often at all. Just go to Boston Pizza, the food they microwave will taste better and cost less
It was a cold February night and why not try something new. I type this as I sit at my table attempting to drink water and flush the salt out of my mouth, however we have been here for over an hour and no one has refilled our water glasses. Let's start at the beginning, the hostess was probably the most pleasant of the 3 servers who all seemed to be in a giant rush despite the restaurant only being half full. Next the server seemed lack luster, the server who we won't name was uninterested in providing any type of quality service. Our diet cokes came quickly only to be flat as could be, we ran out of co2 we were told and then were swerved 2 more glasses of flat diet coke after they fixed the problem. The best part of the meal was the deep fried cheese curds which were crisp, tasty and came with a nice marinara sauce. Next up 2 Block burgers which were recommended, one came with a tasty Cesar salad but disappointed no fresh pepper just a terrible packet of flavorless pepper. The best part of the burgers was the quality butcher style bacon despite being deep fried, it had a tasty flavour. The burger patty itself was of good size and nice texture however the salt shaker must have fallen into the patty making machine. One would have to ask did the chef try this patty on it's own? The onion onion rings came out hot but I was able to ring grease out of them just like Robert Irvine on Restaurant Impossible. What a disappointment. All and all a 5 / 10, no manager came to ask how things were and no customer survey on the receipt. Fyi the water glasses are still empty. In case you're wondering 2 burgers and a appetizer $45.92 after tax. Yes I still tipped and onto the next great winnipeg burger critique! February 24 2022 at 19:32 hours, order 102
Good food and great vibes. The atmosphere was good and the server was great too. Their fried chicken fest entry was okay nothing too special. Overall good atmosphere. A bit high priced for quantity but quality and taste makes up for that. Give it a try!
