Staff is very good/attentive. The pasta is consistently quite good. The pizzas, however, are just okay.I recently tried 2 of their gourmet pizzas(Hot Honey and Bianco). The Hot Honey was the stand out flavorwise. However, the dough/crust did not scream "gourmet" to me. Closer to a premade pizza shell than a housemade/hand tossed crust(although I'm not saying this is the case...just not exactly what I'm looking for in a gourmet crust). If there was a pizza fight between Bellissimo and Rae's Bistro then it would be a first round knockout by the reigning champ(according to me) Sugar Rae Bistro with their sourdough crust and outside the box toppings.
We had a reservation for a large table and was told that we had a time limit. This would've been fine except for the fact that it took the server a while to take our orders (although the restaurant was not busy) and we ended up being rushed out the restaurant. Despite that the food and portions were good—the gnocchi was amazing.
We went here for our anniversary and got the Pappardelle Bolognese and the Angnolotti. Service was good but the food was bland and underwhelming.
My wife and I arrived around 6 on a Wednesday evening and the place was packed. We were seated immediately. They still had the hanging plexiglass shields between the tables. The service was above normal. We both ordered the Lemon Veal, which was very good in both taste and quantity. The meal came promptly. Although the wine list is limited, we were able to find a wine that we liked. For dessert, I ordered the carrot cake which is actually a combination of a carrot & spice cake, both of which I like. It was good but I think a regular carrot cake would have been better. This is a restaurant that we have always enjoyed visiting.
Amazing from start to finish. We’ve been there a couple of times, and say, without a doubt the best restaurant, staff, service and food we’ve had. My only regret is that I found this place in 2022 and that was way too many years with the same food from all other Winnipeg restaurants. This review could be all summed up by simply saying “perfect”.
Finally got around to dining here! The food, the ambience, the service, everything was amazing! For the antipasto, the baked brie was top notch! And my personal favourite for the entrée has to be the Agnello, which was cooked to such perfection that the meat just fell off the bone. Definitely going back for more!
My favorite restaurant hands down! My favorite meal is the Arogosta and WOW it hits every time!!!! I also got this lemon dessert last time that was mind blowing! Cannot wait to go back!
Our server was Jennifer and although she was friendly, it was very hard to hear her as the restaurant was very loud. They gave no gluten free menu even though on their website they pride themselves as being a gluten free restaurant. When asked about gluten free options, she just pointed on some items on regular menu stating what they can make gluten free. She’s basically in your face pointing. Normally that would be okay, but during these times in a pandemic, it’s not acceptable. For the prices that are charged you’d think they’d have a separate gluten free menu. Food took a long time to come out and portions were small. Won’t be back.
Picked up lunch today for a group of 25. Food was awesome all of it was warm at pick up. Everyone loved it!
The server / owner was the best! Funny, charming and made you feel like you have been friends forever. Love the food, drinks and ambiance.
