If you are in Winnipeg during Summer, I definitely recommend you visit this place. My favorite ice cream over here is The Saltzberg and Biggie-Smalls.They have a variety of thick shakes as well.

Some will say that ice cream is ice cream...well those that say that, are incorrect. And here's why:BDI (or Bridge Drive In) has been around for over 60-years. Like most independent locations, the ice cream tastes fresher. As an added bonus, you get to order some pretty unique items like the "GOOG" special. Try finding that at a corporate dairy location!!In a way, I feel like this location doesn't need a review, because it's been such a Winnipeg landmark, the long line of people waiting patiently for their ice cream treat speaks volumes above what any reviewer can offer. It's worth the drive. It's worth the wait in line. It's worth the great taste that your mouth and stomach will appreciate.

They have a very tasty ice cream with good variety. Staff are very friendly and nice. Fast service even it was busy. I didn't stay long to receive my order. Parking is might be the only issue. The place is by the river with a great view, you can take as much as many beautiful pics during the sunset.

Long lines, a beautiful park nearby but pretty decent ice cream. They’ve got tons of variety.Their milkshakes are a hit.Their soft serves are thick.I would run to this place whenever I wanna take a walk in the park and also have some ice cream.Their chocolate fudge and Saltzberg are pretty famous.

Probably more like 3.5 stars. On the positive - this place is a classic and the ice cream is always amazing. the portions are pretty large, and the service is quick. They also have vegan options available which is great. Always nice to go for a walk across the bridge while enjoying your ice cream. On the downside, tables/seating is limited and always seems to be dirty/sticky. Prices are pretty steep. Beware of wasps, long lineups, and limited parking.

I got a banana split. With 3 kind of different syrup. I never expected that. I like only the chocolate syrup they added. The quantity is fine for $7.80. Anybody purchasing banana split and is a huge fan of banana split make sure that you are getting only the flavours u like on your orders. This helps you to avoid lot of artificial flavours or syrup on your split , that u donot like. There is no description of the items they are adding on your banana split, infact that made mine a mess though.

Oh boy ! There are never ending lines in this place . People kept coming for ice cream , shakes, sundaes. It has been here since 1957! Wow !I ordered the basic ice cream vanilla and chocolate twirl , its creamy, the sweetness just right .There are many varieties available you can chose from , im still full so I just ordered the simple one .After we ordered we went to walk around the trial for 45 mins and oh boy Twas worth it ! Nice weather and scenery . ?

A nice place to visit if you are staying for a few days in Winnipeg. Parking might be an issue during summer but the distance is walkable. My favourite is Fruit Salad but you can enjoy variety of best ice creams. Cash and Card both are excepted here.

Not impressed at all! We ordered a large vanilla soft serve with butterscotch dip and peanuts and a medium chocolate peanut butter milkshake. The cone was tiny compared to the past. Literally 4.5 inches high. The milkshake was also smaller then the last time I came to the BDI Drive Inn. The cone dip was so watered down there was NO flavour at all. As well, It was so thinned down from the water , it didn’t even coat the ice cream cone when they dipped it and most ran off to bare ice cream. The ice cream clerk didn't even put peanuts on the cone and when I asked she became annoyed. The total bill was over $14.50 and I couldn’t find the tip cancel button on the electronic pay pad so I felt forced to pay a tip. $16.50 for this is a way to expensive for the lack of quality. Not going back.

Location is top tier. Loved taking my daughter here for the first time, walk the bridge, and watch the boats go by.The ice cream is good, but not great in my opinion, but will still happily return to try something new and see if the experience gets even better.
