My friend's husband had Covid and was unable to make the 4 hour round trip to Winnipeg to get her a slice of her favorite cake, so we got her it! Great birthday surprise!

Baked expectations is actually how you expect your cakes to be ?Such a good option for Birthday and Occasional cakes. The place gives you neon vibes @ night and have cutest boxes ever for their food. We got our favourite Red Velvet and it was 10/10Recommended!☺️

Lots of choices, big portions and great taste ! What else can you wish for?! Staff were very friendly as well.

Staff is quick and professional. Shop is clean and cake presentation is nice. Closed to dine in with take out only-this is not posted on website. Several people disappointed.Cakes are heavy on icing and not much cake. 4 people, four different cakes. Nobody finished theirs-but not because of the portions which were on the small size. Pictured on 8 inch plate- as sliced.Another “Winnipeg Institution” that somehow manages to get 5 star reviews- is it nostalgia from first dates and a trendy neighbourhood? Is it high prices that make one convince oneself that it’s yummy and worth it? I can’t figure it out.Schmoo cake-left with a dry mouth and a sore stomachVegan/Oreo- waaay too much sweet icing-pretty sure it’s just Betty Crocker icing (vegan too). If not - it tastes EXACTLY the same.Slayer cake- best of the ones we triedCrazy Chocolate-Enjoyable but the smallest portionCarrot Cake- waaay too much cream cheese icing - with Barely any sweetener- if you like eating cream cheese on its own by the spoonful you might like it because there’s very little cake.It was busy so I guess they’re doing something right, but I won’t be back. Worth trying once and you make up your mind if it’s worth another visit.

Super disappointed that we couldn’t sit in the restaurant yet. Did not notice that on the website at all. That aside, the staff greeted us and supplied us with our masks (because we did not have any on hand). They were all really nice and quick to help. They were very well staffed for a closed dining room. We then perused the cakes displayed in case and ordered 3 slices, the Slayer, Pavlova, and Chocolate Peanut Butter Cheesecake to go, while admiring the cool decor in the dining room from afar! If we had been able to sit in I would have been thrilled. We also ordered drinks, a Chai Latte and a Crème Caramel and left to eat in the car. The cake was amazing, although the slayer could have had more cake with the icing ?, I would order all of them again… and again. It’s also the best Pavlova I have ever had, and that was echoed by my friend who declared he didn’t like Pavlova. We were all disappointed that the crème caramel drink had espresso in it…. and didn’t finish it. I had to call the restaurant back and ask what was in it because we were all thrown by the flavor. A crème caramel has nothing to do with coffee. I would skip this one. Really, I wouldn’t go down unless their restaurant is open for seating, just order through skip, pass on the drinks (and the stupid parking) and eat the cake from the comfort of your couch (or bed). All of this would have lost you an additional star but the cake was just so good! Your Baker saved you on this one.

Went there for coffee and dessert. You still require masks to enter, which we didn’t have a problem with. However, they still have no indoor dining. If we would have known this, we wouldn’t have had to park a block away and walk there, only to walk back within minutes. Parking isn’t the greatest in that area. So if we would have know, we either wouldn’t have gone, or one of us could have went in to pick something up, while the other one drove around. Just a heads up!

So I got the chance to visit my old haunt from the 80’s. it did not disappoint! The classic 50’s vibe and the delicious selection of cakes to fit anyone a taste!!! I will let the photos do the talking. We tried 3 different ones this time and they were all heavenly. The photos of the restaurant look a little sparse but that’s because of the COVID restrictions, it is late March 2022 and the restrictions are done as of April 1, in most of Canada. Masks are optional everywhere except hospitals, airports and federal government related departments I believe.

Staff are incredibly friendly, courteous, kind and caring. They love what they do, and they're phenomenal at it. You can taste how much effort and care goes into everything they make, and it's clear that they love not only what they do, but the people they're always happy to serve as well. I will go here as often as I can, and I recommend everyone do the same-they're good for the community, and they always leave you feeling satisfied, both in the food they make and the exceptional way they treat you. 12/10 :)

I had been a loyal customer until today. I had been coming here for many special occasions including my birthday every year (which was today) but the service my husband and I received this evening has ended my patronage here for good. We were treated extremely poorly, by both the staff and management after we had a problem with our items. I would not recommend anyone going here, there are many other specialty bakeries in Winnipeg who treat their customers with proper respect and do their best to right wrongs. I will be visiting them instead. If I could give them a 0 out of 5 I would!

Still requiring masks and vaccinations despite the province no longer requiring it. Any business owner that willingly turns away business is clearly not competent enough to be running anything.
