We enjoyed the food, but the organization needs to be improved. We waited 40 minutes just in line to order, and then another 20 for food. Standing in line was awful and crowded and the food is all made up in hot containers all ready to go. We were confused but the staff was working very hard. It was just not as enjoyable an experience. The meat was really good but the Mac and cheese not as great.
I absolutely love this place. My must-visit-at-least-once spot whenever I’m in Whistler. The location is amazing, obvi. Service friendly and efficient. Restrooms always clean. The ambiance is so rustic chill that I could stay there and chat or work for hours (and have). Inside and outside spaces are charming and inviting. The fire on the patio is a great touch. Lots of amazing choices on the menu. The ones I’ve tried are fresh and delicious. I always look forward to their breakfast bowls with the biscuit on the side. Best cheat day ever!
The Brisket Poutine is legendary. I’ve never had a poutine like this in my life, it is hands down the most delicious dish I’ve tasted in the village. The potatoes were perfectly crispy on the outside, yet soft on the inside. Even smothered in that delicious thick gravy, the potatoes never lost their outward crispiness! Now the Brisket is succulent, delicious, soft, flavourful and done to perfection. I cannot recommend it enough! You need try the poutine with brisket from this spot if you’re at Whistler or I promise you, you’re missing out. I’m not even exaggerating here! Legendary status.My boyfriend had the Bratwurst with two sides and he said they were wonderful. I took a bite to sample and oh yesss, wonderful they were.But that poutine + brisket…can’t recommend it enough! It’s been a few weeks since I’ve left Whistler and it’s been on my mind. Never had anything like it. Best dish I’ve tasted in my entire stay over there!
Great spot to grab something quick to eat and to get a few drinks. The gluten free porchetta sandwich is great, as is the gluten free lime cake with sugar topping.There’s plenty of indoor and outdoor seating available.
My wife and I had dinner here. Her company rented out the restaurant for an evening. We did buffet style and it was OK but maybe not as good as if you ordered from menu!
Had breakfast here several times and it was great. It was very busy and service a bit slow. I think covid restrictions played a part in that. Notwithstanding a great place to go
We went 9 in the morning. Very busy but there are plenty of seats available. There are 2 separate lines for pastry bar and breakfast bar. We ordered chicken waffle and the breakfast bowl. Both amazing
Located at ground floor, this is a good joint for breakfast, sandwiches etc. Quick service at affordable rates.
We ordered their Christmas prime rib dinner.Initially, I was disappointed. We went to pick it up at the allotted time and were told they were running 15 - 20 minutes behind. We wandered around for a bit, then came back. They were still behind.Ultimately we got our food, but the hot stuff had been sitting in a box for a while so I was worried it would be cold by the time we got home.That's where the bad stuff ends. The rest was great. It wasn't super hot, but it was hot enough. It was great tasting and a ton of food: counting feeding people from the leftovers, it fed double the people indicated. And it reheated amazingly well.Execution on the front end should have been better. A heads up that we would need to carve the prime rib would have been nice. And it would have been best if the reheating instructions didn't assume we had 3 ovens at our disposal.But all in all very good. I was skeptical due to the high price, but the volume and quality handily made up for it.
I have been going to Whistler for the last 25 years. I’m a lucky guy! Based beneath the legendary Fairmont Chateau Whistler Hotel, Portobello offers breakfast, coffee and, much to my surprise, dinner. I wouldn’t recommend it to veggies as this is a proper meaty offering. Ribs, rotisserie chicken and beef brisket are their specialities. All accompanied by great side dishes and a large helping of friendliness!
