I had been here once before due to their offering gluten free fish and chips. That experience was only marginally better as I ordered takeout and ate my food down at the beach. This time went with a friend after a walk in Lighthouse park. Since it was later in the afternoon (@4:20) we decided to split and order of fish and chips and drinks. The waitress informed us that her shift was ending at 5 and she would be serving us until then. Unfortunately for my friend when went order drinks they were all out of beer except for IPA! The waitress mentioned something about everybody ordering beer that afternoon (go figure on a scorching day in Vancouver). I decided to have sangria and so my friend decided to have the same. The waitress brought out two glasses of mildly cool water and disappeared. We did not see her again for 20 minutes when we reminded her we ordered sangria and asked for a water refill. Another 15 or so minutes and our food appeared but still no sangria. We ate our food and were preparing to leave when another waitress appeared with 2 sangrias and said she had to make a batch and that they were on the house. We said thank you and drank the drinks and asked for the bill. Yup, you guessed it it was another 20 minutes before we finally got a machine to pay the bill. In total while we were there we counted a total of 4 tables and 4 staff. Given that, the service was really inexcusable.
Three of us ordered the halibut for dinner. It was dry and overcooked. The presentation was just awful, bland with a few green peas, roast potatoes were Luke warm and the turnip was not a great accompaniment to the fish. At 41.00 I expected at least something decent. Extremely disappointed.
Good times had by all - thank you!
They did start by stating the food would take longer due to being short staffed in the kitchen, which is completely understandable. The food was ok, but not really special. The service was not the greatest. We had asked for a carafe of water and the server said ok and never brought one, at times water glasses were empty and they filled them at the table next to ours but not ours, we had ordered bread which never came with the other food, and later we told the server the bread never came but itâs ok, to just take it off the bill since it had not come for over 20 minutes after other food. Nobody came to check if the meal was ok, and later when the bill came the bread was still on it. Not a great experience. Past experiences at feast were good, not anything to write about though.
Amazing food, nice atmosphere and wonderful cocktails. Our go-to restaurant in West Vancouver that never dissappoints. Their beef tartare is done perfectly! Highly recommended!
Meal of chicken and waffles. Chicken and bacon good but waffles terrible dense and doughy, not cooked enough. Seafood chowder was tasteless and full of vegetables. Grilled cheese and fries were good.
Great place. I am a celiac so Feadt is a real treat for me with all of their gluten free items. Fried chicken was amazing!
The dinner menu has a disappointing emphasis on chicken with little in the way of alternate choices for a main course. The website is misleading in suggesting a higher quality of cuisine than the relatively simple cooking that was on offer. Two significant exceptions are noted. The preparation and presentation of the mussels was exceptional. A full and very tasty broth with an ample supply of sourdough bread with which to absorb left overs! And the wine list offers some excellent choice at relatively modest cost. A menu with a better balance of dishes would make this an attractive destination for a pleasant evening meal.
Booked for 1130 opening to get a good table for birthday 1130 bistro still dark 1135 seared at window table but no tables in restaurant set. All bare We were only people eating until 1230 whe one other table was filled The ambience was zero and the prices exorbitant $18 for 2 sides of friesâ¼ï¸â¼ï¸ $21 for 9oz glass of wine The curry mussels we went for were not offered at lunch. Only dinner? I love in the neighbourhood and always loved this bistro. Just so disappointed to see how it has changed. Too bad
We came for brunch, and my wife and I were quite disappointed with the food. I had the mushroom skillet and my wife had the feast benny. The bottom of her dish was filled with water, perhaps scooped along with the poached eggs? Not sure, but it made things soggy. And her bacon seemed to barely touch a pan and was barely cooked. And everything was simply very underseasoned and bland. The service was also quite inattentive despite being very quiet.
