Dynamite roll was so overcooked it wasn't edible - shrimp had shrunk up like a shriveled worm, and had the texture of hard rubber.No idea how it was served like that but when it was pointed out told that 'its too bad i didn't enjoy it' haha.This place has gone downhill recently.
Amazing, delicious, fresh sushi that is by far one of my best sushi experiences. We are a family visiting from Sweden and I wanted to get my “sushi fix” while in West Van visiting family and friends. I had never heard of this place but as we had spent the morning playing at a nearby playground and were all hungry, I suggested sushi and we ended up getting takeout: Ambleside rolls, Angry mountain rolls, Lava rolls, and fresh sockeye sushi (what we call sashimi) were a few of the items in our order. Everything was finger-licking good and I will definitely come back for more visits in the future!
exellent presentation! uncomplicated menu with several unique options. great location for sushi cravings after spending time at ambleside.
Lunch special is really nice and cheap and I'd totally recommend it. However the freshness of the fish is umm.. Other than that, Bene sushi is tasty and affordable!
We used to order here all the time but our last few experiences have been poor. Especially the last time when the food was cold, was low quality, and service had a major attitude.
Small portions and expensive, at least for the sushi dish. Place wasn't that busy but service was slow. Server brought the wrong order, so had to wait even longer.
Absolutely worst services. Same rude server (younger girl) last two times.. we asked her politely to bring a bigger ball... she rolled her eyes and slammed it on the table. she needs a lesson in manners and customer services. go find another job if can not be pleasant at your job. Not going there again.
Very basic not to impressed forsure and definitely overpriced. Only couple things in menu that are ok but many times i got dishes that definitely weren't worth. Wont go back will definitely try other places down the street.

Really love that they have black rice option for their sushi dishes. I would say cleanliness is the only con of the restaurant. I recommend Bene sushi to all North Shore friends and family.
