We happened to pass by this place and decided to give it a try. The atmosphere is excellent. The outdoor seatings is so cute. Excellent short cake, nicely paired with their green tea

Great service and food- the deli sandwiches and bakery items are both amazing! Charming place with adorable patio!

If I lived closer I’m afraid I’d be there every day. I think I’ll always visit anytime I’m in the area because it was absolutely lovely. The little courtyard was so peaceful and cute and everything, from the baked eggs to the sweets and cappuccino, was delicious. Perfect atmosphere and food to match.

Super awesome spot for lunch to get a great sandwich and soup. Lots treats to!Decided to try out the breakfast menu and pesto eggs benny are unbelievable!Highly recommend the new location in Sidney and close to the ocean for a walk after

They may be a hapless victim of difficulty finding staff but our lunch on Friday was unconscionably slow. It took 45 minutes to get our food after we placed the order. We had to find our own napkins. That said, the food was delicious. The bathroom needed attention.

We decided to check out the new location of Tonolli's in Sidney. Our main observation is related to the service. It is a definite issue right now - getting enough staff to run an establishment is an issue in so many restuarants. From the time of our order (two panini, two latte) to service took 35 minutes. The server was apologetic, but they clearly do not have enough people to prepare and serve the food in a timely manner, let alone bus the tables. The coffee was very good. About the panini - these are not panini made in a press. They are toasted sandwiches. Tasty enough. Mine was advertised to contain mozzarella bocconcini, which it did not - some yellow cheese. In a cafe with an Italian name this was a bit of a surprise. For a future trip we would consider the tasty looking baked goods on the counter and a brewed coffee, rather than waiting on a meal that needs prep.

I was at their new location in Sidney BC on the corner of Fifth Street and Bevan Ave. The reason I gave only 3 stars is not because of the food (it is excellent) but because of distracted staff and because of little to no service.I have been at their location on East Saanich several times over the years, and though they are always extremely busy, they are always friendly and service is prompt. I guess they are more experienced than the staff at the new location in Sidney where I was served a cup of cappuccino without saucer or spoon on a dirty table. I had to ask for a saucer and a spoon and the waitress (?) seemed surprised at my request. She threw the spoon on the dirty table. So I asked for a clean spoon and had to ask several times if she could clean my table. Note that most of the time she was helping/serving me, she was on her cell phone...

Friendly vibe and amazing baking, sandwiches and coffee.

This place was a delightful find! We stopped in looking for a bite to eat and a snack for the ferry. It was hard to pick just one pastry in their case, so we got quite a few for the road and for sharing - caramel chocolate square, nanaimo bar, peach strudel, chocolate cake, pecan tarts, plus had their brioche cinnamon toast in house. Everything was delicious and the cinnamon toast had just enough syrup/fruit/whipped cream. Was an excellent place to stop! We will be back!

Have a quick lunch here, staff are very nice. The Italian Roma panini and Toscano panini are very delicious. The environment is relax and comfortable.
