My husband & I were looking for a nice place to have Brunch in Victoria with our daughter and her fiance who was visiting Canada for the first time. Another restaurant she was told about had a very long lineup outside. So we googled and found this amazing place: "The Ruby on Johnson". We were seated quickly, and all our 4 brunch dishes were delicious. **Cudos to our server *Mara*. Very efficient and pleasant throughout our visit. We will definitely return. Stay safe staff! ❤️
Hip, modern breakfast place in downtown Victoria. There is a mini market when you walk in. You can get homemade jam, gluten free flour, canned good and a number of other items. There is a great selection of bennys to choose from. We had omelettes and they were great. Service was excellent. The coffee did not taste great so hopefully it was just an off day with the coffee.

My friend recommended this place to us and it certainly didn't disappoint. I strongly suggest anything with the beef brisket, it's tender and flavourful, everyone who went agrees that it's the highlight of the meal. I enjoyed the atmosphere in the restaurant too.
If you’re close to Ruby’s then it’s a must go! I went there with a group for breakfast and the food was sooo delicious! I would highly recommend any of their beef brisket dishes! I wish I stayed in Victoria longer so I got to try more dishes.
Solid 4. Bright and modern atmosphere. Stopped by for brunch, wait listed 30 mins for a table for 2. Service, decent, though some delays for drinks. Fried chicken waffles; good waffles, over fried chicken/batter. Extremely bland gravy. Beef brisket Benny croissant: delicious brisket, my only gripe is the smallish amount of meat. Nothing special about the breakfast potatoes/hash. Iced Americano: not bad. Overall presentation, good. Overall value: meh.

We stayed at Bestwestern Carlton Plaza Hotel on our visit and The Ruby is adjacent to the hotel. Had breakfast and lunch and loved their locally farmed roast chicken which came with the best gravy I've ever tasted. Also loved both their peach iced tea and lavender lemonade, as well as their waffle options.
Relaxing atmosphere. Unique. Staff are awesome. Food was fabulous.
