Went for lunch. Food was delicious. No complaints at all! Will be back.
I was visiting my brother in Langford, and decided on @the_rack_bistro for brunch! I got the breakfast poutine ($16), which was basically a breakfast hash with hollandaise and cheese curds! There was so much cheese it was almost too heavy, but I never complain about too much cheese ? I really liked their hollandaise, it was creamy and light, yet flavorful! Potatoes and eggs were cooked perfectly.Others ordered the West coast Benny ($15), Prairie boy scramble ($17), and the Traditional Breakfast ($9.99). All were good portions and we enjoyed the food.I liked the ambiance of the restaurant and the food was great! Parking was a bit difficult, but otherwise a good brunch spot!
We have lived in Langford for over a year and we didn't know what a local gem this place was. We visited today for the first time with our four year old The servers were friendly and helpful, the food was great for the price. We had the Santa Fe salad, fish and chips, and kids chicken strips. The house beer went perfectly with the food. We plan on making this place a regular haunt for our young family. Our only tiny gripe was the volume of the music being too high, but the internal restaurant is clearly going for a comfortable bar feel, and the music's ambiance clearly matches that. Highly recommended.
Recently attended The Rack for a special event. What a great, welcoming atmosphere and food. Definitely recommend.
Left hungry and hoarse.Went for breakfast on a Saturday morning. We were seated promptly. I had the breakfast poutine. I wasn’t asked how I liked my poached eggs but they came a pleasant medium and the potatoes were well cooked and crispy. While the dish was tasty, the bacon and cheese curds were barely detectable. The hollandaise sauce ran a little on the vinegary side but not enough to complain- could happen to anyone. The portion was entirely too small. I arrived starving and left still hungry. In terms of ambiance, the place is well laid out and well decorated. The noise level, however, was off the charts. It may be the acoustics of where we were sat. The place was busy & loud. I had to yell through most of my breakfast to be heard by my friend. I left with a hoarse voice. Felt like I had been at a nightclub all night.I will say the wait staff was friendly and clearly working flat out. They did their absolute best on a busy morning.I’d give it another chance but I might snack before I arrive.
First time eating here and I was really excited since I want to support local, but the food did not warrant the price point. $22 for a teriyaki rice bowl that’s barely larger than the size of my hand. Pierogis looked and tasted like the frozen bagged kind you’d get at any grocery store, and chorizo oddly not cured at all (tasted like they grilled a hot dog in some taco seasoning). Overall flavour was just alright, but the quality of ingredients and portion sizes certainly aren’t worth it.2 stars for the rustic, pub-like atmosphere and friendly waitstaff. Maybe the burgers and drinks are what we should’ve gotten instead.
What a pleasant surprise this experience was.A hidden gem in the WestShore for sure. Server was very knowledgeable about menu and dairy/gluten free options.Menu was just the right size with a nice variety of options, and a great kids menu too.Definitely somewhere we will returning.
The Rack is a regular place for us! The food is awesome and the service is amazing. The atmosphere is beautiful and warm and always has a fun happy vibe. The kids meals are awesome, always fill their bellies and are so yummy, and you know how hard it can be to please kids! Highly recommend and we will continue to always be regulars ☺️
The Rack has been our go to place since they opened. Wing nights, taco nights and fundraising events. The food has never disappointed. The staff has always been friendly and fast. We definitely will keep going back.
This is the worst restaurant we have frequented in recent memory. We ordered a bottle of wine and the server brought it to the table opened with the cork stuck back in it. To no surprise the wine was off. Had lettuce wraps as an appetizer and were by far the worst we’ve ever had. Sweet & sour chicken chunks from Costco with very little to no accompaniment. I had the Tomohawk pork chop. It looked and tasted like it had been boiled! My wife had the clubhouse and said it was the worst she’s ever had! Tough fatty Turkey and very bland. Our friend had the fish and chips they were completely over fried in what looked like 4 week old oil. Will never return. The interior is very tired and it was freezing! We all ate in our jackets. We should have walked out right away like I suggested. Server was very inexperienced but I get that during these times.
