Fantastic patio, drink and food selection, and really good service. Definitely a hit with the locals! The only thing that might be an issue of concern is that the only bathroom's I am aware of are upstairs, and I don't know of there is anything downstairs available for those with mobility issues.

The Bent Mast has really cool curb appeal, plus the ghost stories to lure you in. We visited this past Friday evening. I was excited to visit this restaurant while in Victoria but sadly disappointed. Upon walking in, the inside reeked of urine. I can't believe more people don't address this in the reviews! The smell was absolutely horrible. We sat down hoping an area would be less smelly (or I'd get use to it after awhile) but it was nauseating and so we asked the waitress to move outside after ordering food but she seemed irritated by the question and confused when I brought up a bad smell. The outside tables had no chairs put out so we had to get our own and dry them with our own clothing. No one helped or seated us. We sat down and waited for our food to be brought out. The food came out in reasonable time. The pecans in my salad were burnt. Otherwise the food was okay. No one during our whole meal came to ask us how things tasted or if we needed anything else food or drink wise. We sat with our finished plates and no one came to collect them or bring the bill. My partner finally had to go inside to chase down someone to pay.I could see how this place would be appealing for drinks or an outside brunch, but otherwise I would not recommend...

I have been a regular at the Bent Mast for several years. It's a great place in the neighborhood to drink beer, socialize and eat. You gotta' love Joe! Most employees are friendly and attentive.I just have to get one thing off my chest: Over the last couple years, there's been a grouchy older lady working there. If you have dined at the Bent Mast in the last couple years, you know who I'm referring to.She can be quite rude to customers when she works outside on the patio. She does not like to serve people along the sides of the building even though its her job to do so. It must be very out of her way. She definitely lets you know you are inconveniencing her by her poor attitude and the lengthy gaps between her visits to your table. I've experienced her awful customer service enough times that I'm finally speaking up.The owners of the Bent Mast should be aware that this broad is not good for business!

Very cool place close to Dallas Road. Prices are fair, especially fish and chips - try them! I loved the decoration, so even the summer days are awesome to eat outside, I would try to dine-in inside to take a look at the details while waiting the food.

Stopped here for a couple of drinks and an appy. The drinks were good, quick service, food was tasty. Cool atmosphere. Unfortunately, didn't see any ghosts.

Check out this “breakfast sandwich “.. no disrespect, it was honestly the worst piece of food I’ve ever been served anywhere. I can’t imagine the person who thought it would be okay to send this out lol. Those are also all of the “fries” it came with, they had no salt and tasted like pure starch. Dunno how you mess up home fries. I’d recommend the bent mast invest in some sort of sauce, mayonnaise, anything. Especially if your signature is burnt eggs and fried cheese.Beyond that, the service is pretty slow, not friendly and not accommodating, and the inside of the restaurant smells awful. Not sure if it’s the old building or the bad food.I do feel bad about the state of this place and hope they get a new owner in quick, the neighborhood definitely deserves it and I’d be happy to help with management advice or IT systems.Anyway probably a great place to have a beer, it’s a decent patio. Skip the food though.

Too crowded inside. Tables are much too close together to be safe. Very noisy and when you walk in it feels rather chaotic. When leaving we had to literally squeeze by a dozen people. Food was pretty good but this place needs to get their act together of exactly how many people are allowed in at one time. If a fire marshal walked in i believe they would find that this restaurant is much too overcrowded.

Shared the calamari and the fish Tacos. The calamari was awesome! It was so tender, done exactly right. I did not realize the fish Tacos were blackened Cajun or I would never have ordered them.I LOVE fish. I swear, the Chef at the Bent Mast hates fish, because every fish dish (with the exception of the calamari) I have ever had there has been prepared in a way to mask the flavor of fish.I HATE over seasoned, over-sauced, flavour masked fish. I HATE blackened fish of any kind. And I mean so spiced that this beautiful fish was black. One bite and my mouth was on fire. I could not eat it. My partner loved it.The beer was fantastic. The service was exceptional, as always!

Finally had lunch at The Bent Mast...Friendly staff and home-cooked food. I had the chowder and lamb burger. Very good lamblocally produced. Tasted the poutine..yummy and not sqalty, just how I like it. If you like spicy, try the crispy cauliflower...have water near by. All I'll a great atmosphere and pub style food.

Great atmosphere, and the host/server went out of his way to inform me about dietary options and accommodate my dietary restriction. Much appreciated for people with dietary restrictions! On top of that, he was super friendly and great to chat with!
