Don’t order through their website delivery system! I placed an order and was given a 30 min estimated wait time. After an hour, I called to check on it and they said that they never received it and that their online order system is really unreliable and it happens all the time. They informed me that their kitchen was closing down and so they wouldn’t be able to make my whole order. Perhaps I expect too much, but I feel like they should have made more of an effort to fill the order that I had already paid for. I asked why they don’t just remove the online ordering system from their website if it’s so unreliable and the person on the phone said that they have suggested it to their manager multiple times but their manager doesn’t seem to care. When I asked if I was going to receive a refund, the person said that they think I will, because I didn’t get the food, but to double check on my credit card in a few days and call them if I don’t. Definitely not impressed with their customer service.
Don't come here if you want to taste good korean food. The main ingredient kimchi is tasteless. The pancake was burnt and needed to be re-do. The side dishes are basically just condiments... and they still charge additional 3Dollars for refills. Tangsuyuk is OK. The galbitang is extremely salty.
This is the worst Korean restaurant I've ever eaten at and brings shame to Korean cuisine. The 탕수육 (sweet and sour fried pork) was extremely soggy, the meat was soooo thinly sliced, and the bulk of the food was made up of the fried batter coating. The serving size is on the smaller side compared to servings from other restaurants and it is definitely not worth $24.I also ordered the 감자탕 (Gamja tang) and I can't believe they're serving this. The meat was so tough and hard to tear off the bone. Not that there was much to eat anyway. It was mostly bone. The 당면 (noodles) were so overcooked and waterlogged that it was triple its original size. It was as if they cooked it for the entire day before scraping it out from the bottom of the pot. The final straw is that there wasn't a single potato in the entire bowl. If you search this dish up, you'll see that every single recipe and picture has potatoes.0/10 would never recommend.
Recently ordered the pork belly and pork dumplings. Pork belly was very bland and tasteless - with hard spots of gristle (you can see in photo). Zero flavour for $25. Dumplings were also pretty tasteless. Mushroom beef bulgoki was adequate. Have paid half the $27 price tag for better at the food court. Luckily we had some good seasoning at home but this was certainly not what I expected. I love supporting local businesses but this needs to be better.
Confession: I'd never tried Korean BBQ before. If Sura is any indication, its great! Had a really lovely time, so much excellent food, the in table BBQ experience was great! Our server was also fabulous - great at her job and quite funny! Ended up taking home leftovers...so good.
Unfortunately our burner wasn't working well and that's a huge part of the experience. The burners built into the tables don't work so they put a portable one on top which makes you feel more cramped with the already lack of space of having a table where you cook your own food. Delicious food but took way too long given the burner not cooking well. When we asked about the burner we were told they were all like that. Expensive for the experience compared to other Korean BBQ I've had.
Easy 4.5. Not quite a 5 as it is on the pricey side...but the food was spectacular! Mushroom Bulgogi and a seafood pancake were very yummy, good size portions. Maybe the price is more reasonable if ordering fir multiple people.
“I was kind of moody, I love cooking but I also wouldn’t cook my food for this amount of money you know? And it’s kinda hard to have a nice dinner with your friends when your focused on cooking on the food correctly. As the cook it’s a bit unfortunate. It’s definitely less relaxing.”-Markus, YouTube Famous“Very Good, thank-you for cooking”-India“The meat was very good, especially that big looking stake thing. If we had a better cook we would have had better food. If I cooked my food it would have been a 10/10.”-Tarek, The reason we went“First time eating Korean BBQ, would come back. The flavour and sauce went crazy.”“Had a good time, food tasted good, have a good day.”“Yummy!”-Gunel, Joel, Everett, the back table“It was quite nice! When you bite into the meat it wasn’t only juicy, but sweet as well. It really slapped. Sodium was a little high, I’m a little thirsty”-Liv, Resident of CARSA“It was delicious, favourite meat was the beef slices, goes hard”-Rowan, CEO of the headband
Pos: Their dumpling are never a let down. Crispy fried and large. Noodle broth is almost clear and very hearty for a cold day. Bottle water due to covid. Pancakes are rich in taste and flavourful.Cons: Prices definately went up. With two people it was almost $80 and that didn't really fill us. Reduced items available on their menu. Service is slow. Their chili fried chicken was the soggiest "crispy fried" chicken I ever had...best if they either revamp the way they make it or get rid of it. Xin makes it better.Food for thought: expensive but tasty dishes. Best to bring in a large group to share the cost. Service seems to be either very good for some or super slow for others.
Went to Sura for their Korean BBQ since it’s the only few restaurants in town has Korean style bbq. Waited in the line for an hour before we could get seated. (Make your reservation!) food was okay tho a bit on the pricey side. Maybe go to Van if you want more eco-friendly and authentic Korean bbq lol
