Sauces and spices are awesome. Fish dishes are perfect. Good lamb. Beef ok. Chicken was a little dry compared to other like restaurants. Still, my favorite in Victoria by a long shot.
I am giving them 2 stars based on service. Me and my partner got 2 orders of mango curry 1 mild, and 1 hot. When we got home to eat the food it turns out they gave us 1 med and 1 hot. So we called them to tell them about the mistake and they said the best they could do is give me a rice pudding on my next order since they were closing. I was disappointed because of my sensitivity to spice I couldn’t eat my meal. The food taste good, decent portions for the price and they’re mango yogurt drinks are delicious. If they had offered me a free mango curry on my next order I would have given them a 5 star but unfortunately I will not be a returning costumer.
Small takeaway. Placing online order was a little tedious. She ordered a Medium hot Beef Biryani which was extremely spicy (even for a Desi like me who orders everything extra hot). It was also quite wet but had a lot of small beef cubes. We added white basmati rice at home to temper it. Good quantity.We also ordered a butter chicken with 2 butter Naans. Both of these items were excellent and flavourful. Plenty of food for a bill just under $40.I would take away from here again.Order ahead and give them 30 minutes before you pick up.
Ordered for for 20 for a party, food was delivered on time, included 2 starters, 3 mains, rice, Naan and dessert was complimentary by the chef. Food was fresh, tasty and quantity was just right for our party. Will order again from Spice Valley:)
Spice Valley Indian CuisineHey all! I don't do this often, but I needed to put this out there.This is by far one of the best restaurant's in Victoria, and for sure the best Indian restaurant. If 10 stars were an option, they would get 20 from us..The experience we got tonight was beyond exceptional.The food is exceptional. Always fresh and full of flavor, there is not one thing we have tried that we haven't loved. Since finding this gem they have been a regular staple for us. It's that good!!!!One thing that outshines its food (almost an impossible feat) is their customer service. The level of care, detail, and love they give their customers is incredible. This can only come from the passion of a local family run restaurant. It does not matter if you eat in house or order deliver from Skip they always go above and beyond for their customers.If you have not tired this restaurant Do it now!!! You won't be disappointed.
Ok this is partially an admission of guilt, and partially a review. I NORMALLY eat vegetarian. But on the very rare occasion I am overcome with temptation. And that is exactly what happened last night in the truck as we picked up our robust order from the wonderful Spice Valley.I couldn’t help but pound back all 5 pieces of tandoori chicken right there, having not even left the curb. I was within eyeshot of a few teens and received some interesting glances. I think they were a little horrified at the sight. But I was pleased.Their spinach and cheese dish (palak paneer), non-daily option (cashew cream base) utterly finished me off after the tandoori had thoroughly had it’s way with me.Well worth the trip from the mainland.
In town to see my son and we ordered from here twice in 5 days because it was so delicious!! So many new favourites from here now but especially the samosa chaat and the special chicken soup ( lentils, chicken , herbs, spices) The seasonings, sauces, flavours … Fantastic! I will be back!
This restaurant is the best indian restauran in Victoria. Their food are so so delicious and very flavourful. I love the Fish pakora and the Chicken biryani they so so good. Thir Chef name Rahul was very very nice and friendly, he came out to help me with choose the best food i could order and it was very delicious. I highly recommend this Restaurant to everyone who likes to try indian foods. I can always eat into this restaurant everyday.???
I eat indian foods in several indian restaurant and the food was fine. When i tried the food in this restaurant its blew me away, the flavours of their food was so authentically delicious. This restaurant was the real taste of India and one of the best indian cuisine in town. The serving of the food was so generous and its worth the value of your money. The staff are so friendly and will always welcome you with smile. I also like their rice pudding its taste so good. As a Cook myself working in a fancy restaurant i highly recommend to come and visit and try their foods. The Spice Valley is the best Indian Cuisine in Victoria.Bien Martinez
I ordered 3 goat biriyan from spice valley today. It was so delicious. The goat was so soft and the rice was cooked perfectly. The quantity was more than satisfactory. Thank you so much ????.
