Worst experience ever. Had a gift certificate from Christmas, showed it to the staff when we entered. Had to call the person who gave it (embarrassing) sat in the restaurant, ignored for 30 minutes, while three of them talked to the person who gave the gift certificate, all we were offered in that 30 minutes was a tepid glass of water. After 40 minutes they finally said it’s sorted, asked us what we wanted? We said “our coats please“ and left. Never have I been treated like that in any restaurant. I’ve had beater sevice at McDonald’s! I would not recommend to buy gift certificates from this establishment. They are like a bunch of monkeys who can’t keep their books up-to date.
Amazing waitress, super cool, super friendly. The beef tartar was a religious experience with bull kelp and nori adding to the delight. The halibut for main was cooked so delicately that it was incredible with a plate licking sauce. The chocolate hazelnut dessert was to die for with a perfect coffee accompaniment. Liese loved her mushroom crackling, fish tacos and custom gluten free dessert. Everything about this dining experience was sheer perfection.

What a gorgeous meal we had last night at Saveur!!! We had the prix-fixe 3 course menu. Everything was absolutely delicious. My partner had the skate wing and I had the gnocchi, and they were both perfect. The service was SPECTACULAR. I don’t drink much so I asked the bartender to make me a surprise mocktail, and he made a drink with lavender, pomegranate, citrus and soda that is one of the best things I’ve ever tasted. We both loved our meal. Highly recommended!
Covid has drastically affected the restaurant business and so I was interested to see how Le Saveur, our favourite local restaurant, responded. They created a Take-Home Family Meal Kit and the one that we ate was excellent in every way. Each week the restaurant changes the menu. Customers are asked to give the restaurant at least 48 hours’ notice and at an agreed upon time a shopping bag with all of the elements is ready for pick up. In our case the menu was composed of: - Parsnip soup with an herb finishing oil - Oso Bucco - Cheese risotto - and a mushroom and sunchoke ratatouille. When we got it home and had a closer look at each of the elements it was immediately apparent how much thought had gone into everything. Each food element was packaged separately with a label describing the contents and giving instructions on how to reheat for serving. This degree of forethought and attention to detail made it easy to get it from package to table. And the result? Ample portions of everything and it all tasted simply delicious. For as long as the Covid restrictions are in place we plan to order again. And when this pandemic is over, and things get back to normal, we will be happy to eat in the restaurant once again. In the meantime, this turned out to be a great alternative to that, and as I said, an excellent experience.
Absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. It’s the sort of meals that brings you to wonder… how did they manage to turn mundane ingredients, you find in any fridge, into something so delicious!?The setting is clean and nicely decorated, the seatings were well sectioned for covid as well. I think they did try their best to serve but they were a little bit understaffed.Would love to try more dishes next time in Victoria!
Had birthday dinner here yesterday. The food was amazing! The crispy pork belly was so tasty with that a bit crunch outside and so juicy inside! The squash and Quinn sauce was so good with the meat too. The duck was surprisingly soft with also crispy skin. It really had the duck taste in it which I loved so much! Personally I loved the duck slightly better than the pork belly, but my friend liked the pork more.Had the dark chocolate dessert at the end with chestnut, foie gras ice cream and chocolate nibs flakes. Nice combination too!The staff there was so nice! Had a really nice dinner! Definitely recommend to try here! Great French restaurant in Victoria
