The food was impeccable. And the interior of the place speaks history itself. I love the contrast of colors, it blended well with the detailed architecture.I especially loved the charcuterie board, I love the bresaola. It was lean, tender and savory. The triple chocolate cake is a definite slice of heaven. It is moist and just the right amount of sweetness plated aesthetically as well. It sent me back to my great memories in Italy with the biscotti dipped in my cappuccino.The only downside is the attentiveness of the server.I told him the latte is too strong for me and just asked for milk. But then it didn’t do any good. It was hard to get his attention that I even have to raise my hands up all the way.Nonetheless, I am coming back because of the food.
Excellent cuts, not over seasoned to hide anything, tomahawk pork chops were tender and nice flavor!Cedar wrapped salmon was moist and paired well with asparagus and greens.Honey butter and bread was a great starter!Finished off with house churned ice cream and sorbet, and a berry trifle! Both were very creamy and tasty, not over sweet!
Very disappointing high tea experience!Brought my Mother and daughter for a special afternoon. We had previously heard good things about this from years ago, but apparently the quality has dropped drastically!The service was absolutely terrible! The server had a lovely personality, but extremely slow, and quite spaced out. We had to ask for everything, she never once poured our tea, and we waited over an hour for our sandwiches / fingerfood to arrive!! For the almost $300 we spent, it was unbelievably disappointing!The tea was delicious, the food, nothing special...From now on, we will be taking visitors and guests to Buschart Gardens for their high tea, and will never return!
We’ve been to Q a couple of times now. The first was summertime and enjoyed an outdoor dinner that overlooked the harbour. All the food was fantastic and the drinks were well crafted. Our second time we enjoyed sitting in their lounge and enjoyed late night pizza, complimentary popcorn, and some incredible desserts. The ambiance was lovely and we had excellent service from our waiter. A highly recommended experience if you’re willing to spend the money on it.

My husband and I had our first stay at the Empress in February, we were beyond impressed by the service, kindness of staff and how spectacular their food is! Dining at the Q was a wonderful experience the waiter was so friendly and knowledgeable, the food was absolutely delicious! We also ordered room service a couple of times and the food each time was delivered to our room under 30 minutes! The quality of food was just as fantastic as dining in!Highly recommend to anyone visiting Victoria to dine here at least once!
Evening at the Q Bar with some young ladies left much to be desired. Ambiance was nice, service was okay, live music was a good choice and a nice touch but overall the experience was disappointing compared to how the service and quality was at the old Bengal Lounge. Sent one meal back (grilled cheese) as it was soggy on white bread (not brioche as stated). And even still the waitress tried to claim it was because it wasn't eaten quickly enough... really?? Roasted tomato soup was very tasty, fish and chips were good, pizza was also, fish tacos were not to Victoria's standard. The setting is nice so I may go back for a cocktail, but I'd skip the over charged meal.
A fun family Saturday evening at Q Bar with our nine year old, live music, good cocktails. Had a picnic style tapas meal, including tomato soup and grilled cheese, warm bread and honey spread, homemade chips and dip. All was very tasty. Service also good, though a tad slow - Q was packed. Recommend for most, families with small kids may want to take a pass (limited table seating, don’t think there’s high chairs, not sure whether kids menu is available in Q Bar).
A very elegant place, good atmosphere and pleasant staff. Live music was a nice bonus.The menu was far too small and steak cuts seemed very random in size. It could be better quality for the pricing in my opinion. The COVID plastic barrier was awkward placed at the ends of the tables.
