I gave them a try before my acupuncture appointment around the corner and ordered my beef Pad Thai quickly, paying in advance. The server who was very polite and attentive took my order and my meal was ready in 10 minutes. The food was simple but packed full of flavor and simply delicious. I'd say they passed my speed test with flying colors; I'm sure the plating would be better if I wasn't in a hurry.I was happy with this little family operated place. I have known of this restaurant before it opened (added their entry on Google maps; I used to be a patron of the former Artisan Cafe in the same spot) but was unable to come here in with my then boyfriend (who literally lives across the street; again his loss). Definitely be coming to this place more often going forward to try their other menu items.
The only server was very attentive even it was close to closing time for afternoon break at 3pm. We ordered some special pho, Bahn mi, chicken BBQ sticks and some vermicelli. The food tends to be very sweet in taste, the pho soup was not hot enough and lack of herbs, which is a no no in soup noodles, the baguette was ok but the bread inside has become soggy. Gave me an impression of a very westernized Vietnamese presentation. The place is very clean and there is a bar.
Very disappointing food.I came here with my fellow pho-lover friend. We ordered prawn vermicelli dish, wisdom special pho and Iced Thai coffee and tea.We tried lots of Pho in the island, but this is by far the worst one we ever had.The pho soup is very sweet and salty. And somehow it wasn’t hot enough, just lukewarm. The pho noodle itself was very salty too.The Thai coffee and tea were too sweet too. The prawns were decent but vermicelli had strange texture. And again, the sauce was way too salty and sweet even though we only poured around 1/3 of the give amount in.We don’t like wasting food but unfortunately we couldn’t finish any of the dishes. The server was nice but seemed to be busy with other stuff. We came at 11 as first customers but we didn’t get water until we asked for it.Maybe some customers will like the salty taste of dishes, but I believe at the very least foods should’ve been served hot.
Spectacular service.Menu offers many vegan options and I had no difficulty also finding items that are also gf.The location is easy to find and was clean and inviting when we visited. My vegan friendly soup was hot and flavourful. The kitchen was able to accommodate my request for specific vegetables (due to allergies) and it was very good.My partner opted for a vegan friendly curry and it was stunning when it arrived.Pay parking was available on the street outside of the restaurant and we will return to try other items. We visited on a weekend in the early afternoon and enjoyed our visit.
Ordered pho chicken soup about 3 days ago and specifically asked for no onions. They didn’t read the special instructions and put a ton of onions in the soup. I’m very sensitive to onions and wasn’t able to eat much of it. I called them and they acknowledged the error and said they would refund my order. The refund never happened. Not the greatest customer service.
We've been to Pho Wisdom a few times in the last 6-8 weeks. They have lots of choice for somebody avoiding dairy and wheat. The service is usually excellent? on the latest visit we had a new server he was very pleasant but definitely still had his training wheels on. The quality of the food changes depending on the chef I'm assuming there must not be standardized recipes as items taste different on different visits. Overall I will say you can't go wrong you just may not get what you expect.
The restaurant is the best pho restaurant in Victoria. They have a great service and amazing food. We tried the Pho Wisdom special, beef broth was rich, tasty. Highly recommended 10000000%. Thanks for bring amazing soup in town
Used to be amazing food and people.. then the head chef left to another Restauraunt. The lovely owner lady hasn’t been able to find a suitable replacement.Covid has hit them hard.. dine-in service has gone downhill.. I just got take out and worst pad Thai I’ve ever had. Peanut sauce instead of tamarind?I’ve given it many chances. Dozens of time. It’s just not the same. Sad I will have to retire this off the rotating dining list
Good food. Note that it is better to order by number not by name. My order was mixed up but the server graciously comped my meal. We will go again.
The reviews nailed it all! First time ever here and it’s fabulous! The waiter made us feel welcomed and explained all we wanted to know about the Pho and Thai menus. Flavour addictive and huge portions. This little gem of a place is high on our list! Coming back SOON!!
