Lovely food and great pint of Smithwicks which only Irish people will probably know

Just tourists and found this very busy authentic Scottish pub with traditional food on the menu. Service was good, food was good. Fun place.

Great place! Good atmosphere. Portions at lunchtime where not too big but adequate. The burger and fries were well prepared. I highly recommend trying the garlic mayo, yum!

The two for one fandc is hugely popularfand for good reason. Two quite large pieces of fish (almost enough to share for 2 oldsters) and a mount of very tasty chips. Prices have gone up since our last visit several years ago - the regular fandc now $24 for 2 pieces - but not too surprising I guess. Lively atmosphere...everyone letting their hair doow after years of covid restriction. If this promotional offering is designed to get you back into the puc another time..;.they sure have my attention. (I had the shepherds pie which was a huge serving too)

Super cozy and busy restaurant, however the food was limited in choices due to COVID. There’s patio available too, with outdoor heaters.

The Penny is dangerously close to where I live and I find myself here (fairly) often. They continue to deliver a top notch experience every single time - I’ve never had a negative interaction in 3+ years of visiting. Always fun, always good drinks, the food is great. Sure they have increased their prices like everywhere, but along with that you get an extremely consistent pub experience that you can rely on. Hats off to you Penny crew!

Great authentic pub! We almost went to one near the Oak Bay sailing club and it looked more like an Earls... Food and Service were excellent. I'm sure glad we kept looking to find this one. Will definitely be back next time I'm in Victoria.

My friend ordered the wings, which was a generous portion, and she said the flavour was perfect, but my burger was disappointing, despite the delicious bowl of fries it came with. I'll just say that I like my bun toasted. It felt like a mushy mess. Taste was good overall. Service was friendly !

A pub straight out of the Edwardian era as promised. Great Staff, Delicious food and an amazing list of wobbly pops. I would highly recommend this pub to anyone and everyone!

Staff was friendly and engaging. I had the Shepard's Pie for lunch - it was great and the salad was good too. My lunch partner had a burger - it looked fine, tasted fine, but was no Bin 4 burger unfortunately. If you're in Oak Bay, the Penny Farthing is worth a visit.
